Dewald, representing himself, claimed he used the digital doppelgänger due to trouble speaking clearly. The judges quickly realized something was off when the avatar began its polished performance, prompting one to cut the charade short with a scolding: “It would have been nice to know that when you made your application.” Dewald later apologized, saying he meant no harm—just that he mumbles.
