P.J. Fleck opening statement: - Officials made the right decision to cancel the game - He’s been in Northwestern State’s position, he’s been 1-11, it’s a hard job - We had a lot of things that we needed to improve upon from last week to this week - Played 76 players tonight, mission accomplished! - 9 different people scored a TD, 10 people carried the ball, and 9 had a catch #Gophers

P.J. Fleck: Boy, I don’t take those things for granted, I’ve been a head coach and I’ve been 1-11 before, that’s why we celebrate the way we celebrate. Some people don’t know, we celebrate that way every game, like it’s not like “oh, you crowd surfed,” we do that every game because I’ve been 0-9. That’s a long year. You never take winning for granted. I have never taken winning for granted, ever, and I never want our players to take that for granted. #Gophers

P.J. Fleck on the discrepancy between Michigan and Minnesota’s NIL money: - We're always been the king of the toos, T O O. At some point, too small, too short, too slow, too young, too inexperienced. T O O, nah, that's never bothered me. I've always felt my my job is to do more with less, and not less in a bad way. We have resources here. My job as a head football coach is never to to B C D it, blame, complain ever. That's why you're the head coach. Figure it out, and my job is to maximize the resources you have. - That guy back there, my boss (Mark Coyle), works his butt up for this university, I hope that we continue to get more. - Doesn't mean I won't take more money, everybody. Just so everybody knows, I don't mind doing more with more. #Gophers

Niko Medved on Jeremy Fears Jr.: I mean, you know, he's taken a lot of heat and all that. He's a great player, you know, and Coach gates, on our staffs coached his brother. Knows the family. He is a, I know he's a great kid. He's a competitor. That's who he is. Yeah, he's, you know, he gets a little carried away. And, you know, we saw that on on film, and, you know, I thought they did the right thing that way, but he's a great player. He's a guy you'd love to have on your team. But you know, we also, you know, there's a time you can't do what he did, and I guarantee you he knows that, but he's a great player. #Gophers

Amaya Battle on staying home to play for Minnesota and the legacy she left for other players from MN: “There's a ton of talent in Minnesota, and growing up watching the Gophers play in high school, a lot of talent would leave. There are some players that would stick around. So I think all of us from Minnesota who stuck around me show that you can leave a legacy here at home, and then kind of just make it cool to stay here again.”

Jordan Chiles: Huge thank you to Minnesota. I know there has been a lot of tough things going on here, and I just want to say we stand with you, and that the Prince routine was meant for you guys, and I wanted to bring that energy here. So I hope it uplifts you guys in this very dark time and that the Bruins will always be by your guys' side. So thank you guys so much. 🎥: Jessica Hart IG

REALLY special opening statement by P.J. Fleck (worth the ENTIRE listen): - Wore this blue wristband, our community has been through a lot, that’s why Heather and I love it here so much…today was a special win, we had Fletcher’s 3 buddies, and his brother join us yesterday from the Annunciation shooting. Fletcher (Merkel) was one of the young people that lost his life. Their Dads came and spent a lot of time with us yesterday. - One of Fletcher’s greatest memories was the USC game last year, which was talked about his funeral. - It’s the most unthinkable, tragic, catastrophic feeling you probably could ever have, losing your child. - Mike Wierzbicki did a tremendous job of hosting them, and bringing them into our family - They all got a game ball, kids are really resilient, but we don’t know how that will really impact young people - This is what Row The Boat is all about. Can’t bring Fletcher back, can’t make it easier, but I hope that for 45 minutes in my office, for pre-game, to that locker room, they could smile, and I thought they did. - This goes way bigger than football, everybody. I get paid to win, but I understand my role as a head football coach, I understand the obligation I have, the job I have to do and who I represent. - People can say Row The Boat is corny, it’s 13 years everybody, move on, find a new word, almost 100 wins…corny? It’s never give up. It’s what we just talked about with Team Fletcher, if you’re going to call that corny, you have issues and problems. - What our team showed tonight was resolve and the resiliency of what RTB is all about. I’m so darn proud of them. I don’t know if I’ve been a part of a win like that, that meant so much, and you didn’t even know it. - Coming off of a loss like that, they found a way to win. - #1 reason I love being a football coach is changing lives.

Niko Medved on the unrest happening in Minnesota right now and another ICE involved shooting: 1st of all, I hadn’t heard that. For me, I’m not in politics or any of that. It’s just terrible, the violence, the division, it’s just really disappointing. I’m really disappointed in all of it. You wish you could influence it, but you really can’t from our position. That’s really awful to hear, I don’t know enough about it to comment on it, all of it just really really breaks my heart.
