Today, Illinois enacts the strongest artificial intelligence safety and accountability bill in the nation. We are establishing our state as a leader in setting guardrails for responsible innovation and growth in AI — all the while protecting Illinoisans.

Donald Trump and Kristi Noem are using every lever to provoke our communities and incite chaos. If they wanted to help Illinoisans, they would work with us — not against us — to protect public safety.

Met a very special someone in Chicago. Juanita has been the fourth longest continuous serving State employee until her retirement this year. It was an honor to be able to thank her for her service in person.

All of us must be civil rights activists at this moment. Just like those who showed up, stood up, and spoke out today at National Action Network’s 2026 Convention. If we don’t have a fair election in November, we won’t have any more elections.

Our seventh balanced budget was focused from start to finish on Illinoisans. It not only advances our state's growing record of fiscal responsibility but also continues our investments in education, health care, public safety, and jobs. I'm proud to say we delivered for them.

Donald Trump is looking out for his corporate donors while Americans pay more at the pump. That's why I'm urging Congress to make the sale of E15 permanent year-round to help lower prices for consumers and boost demand for corn grown by Illinois farmers.

My father died of a heart attack at only 39 years old. I’ve always kept an eye on my health because of that history. Now, I’m walking every day and taking a GLP-1 so I can be around for my family. My health journey isn’t over, but sharing this might help others.

Fiscal stability is the foundation on which communities and economies can build and grow — here in Illinois, it has translated into population growth, GDP growth, and job growth.

Donald Trump's administration is treating the people of this country as an adversary. It's pushing the boundaries of its authority, terrorizing our communities, and disregarding all accountability. We will not meet intimidation with fear — we will meet it with truth.

I – like Trump and RFK Jr. – do not have a medical degree. So, when questions surrounding medical treatments emerge, I listen to people who do. I get my information from doctors and public health experts – and urge you to do the same.

If the National Governors Association chooses to remain silent, Illinois will have no choice but to withdraw from the organization. We should be standing as one against the idea that Donald Trump can call up the National Guard against our will.
