I watched this story. Imagine an American citizen pulling up to the 🇨🇦 border - US flag in the backseat, derogatory signs already made. “What are you coming into Canada for?” “I’m here SPECIFICALLY to protest against your federal government. I hate the federal Liberals. I want them gone.” We would never let him in, NOR SHOULD WE. We have a democratically-elected government & we should never allow foreigners to protest it. So….that’s what the US guard said to him. Imagine being the guy thinking this is an important news story. Put the phone down, champ.

This is the September 2024 visit to Algoma Steel by PM Justin Trudeau. Trudeau was in his 18th year as a politician & 9th as PM. He knows he’s going into hostile territory. He also did something you will never, ever, ever see Mark Carney do after yesterday’s layoffs. You think Carney would take the jabs & genuine concerns for 80-90 seconds? 0.0% chance of that. And that’s why these are far more scary times than 14 months ago.

You don’t have to have loved Justin Trudeau by the end, or even voted for him once/twice/thrice, but maybe you can think of another Prime Minister of our great country, who would simply sit there & let another foreign leader lift his leg & pee all over his predecessor with utter falsehoods & slander. Chretien wouldn’t. Mulroney wouldn’t. Trudeau’s DAD wouldn’t. This is humiliating - & this isn’t even about the federal election campaign of “Our relationship with America is over! Just wait until you see me stand up to him!”. I can handle our leaders being wrong from time to time, as we all are. I can’t handle them lacking a spine. As well, the same people marching in the streets of Toronto this weekend - burning Trump in effigy, calling him a dictator, calling for his death (!), will praise Carney. “He can’t tick Trump off. He has to read the room”. The double standards….

The victory lap for the Stellantis CEO, who took a nine-figure subsidy from this Liberal government, & soon after, bolted for a new plant in the Midwest. Mark Carney claims the CEO told him they’d find a way to send another Stellantis vehicle to the Brampton plant. Strange how it’s never been mentioned since, & it’s not mentioned here.

I’m going to bet all I own Ajax Liberal MP McKelvie didn’t stop by & ask the residents of this ballooning tent city what they needed to see in her government’s budget. Spoiler: there was ZERO. They don’t have a lot in common, mind you. They live in tents - she doesn’t. They also live in Ajax - she doesn’t. I want to be a person (elected or not) in my hometown who doesn’t just talk about problems but actually tackles them head-on. Right now, we have a growing homeless encampment that began with 5-6 tents and has now grown to around 25-30. It’s getting cold, and there’s NO plan - no federal policy or strategy to help. No leadership, & no honest conversation about what can or should be done is predictable & abhorrent. These are people who need to be lifted up, not ignored. Some need opportunity, some need guidance, some need addiction treatment - but all of them need a voice that carries influence & compassion. There is no stigma to needing help. The stigma should be on those who pretend these people & their circumstances don’t exist. I’m making calls - I will keep you posted.

Today is the day. Since the start of this campaign, one message has been clear: Canadians want change. ✅ You want your hard-earned dollars to go further. ✅ You want safer streets and parks for your kids and grandkids. ✅ You want a self-reliant economy. ✅ You want seniors protected and respected. We’ve pledged to deliver — but we need you to make it happen. Vote Conservative. Vote to put Canada First -- For A Change. Let’s Bring It Home. 🇨🇦 #Ajax

I say all the time that the reason I'm running is because I love my community and have seen beyond troublesome signs over the past 9 years. It's principles like those shown by Pierre Poilievre that convinced me to run. It's principles like those that make for true leadership and the kind of change this country needs. When our criminal justice system is a revolving door, Islamophobic attacks like this are more likely. A zero tolerance policy for violent criminals is the only sensible, common sense approach -- one that the Carney/Trudeau Liberals have continuously failed to uphold. Jail, not bail.

“The Canadian Dream”. For those of us born here, for those of us who arrived here - it’s taken on some water, some structural damage, some scratches & dents. Wounded, but not dead. Damaged, but not destroyed. On Sir John A. MacDonald’s 210th birthday, it’s worth noting he belongs in our history books, in our school curriculum, for all he endeavoured to achieve, & all that he did accomplish. Canada should celebrate him, & all that was built for us, by him, & others, in the decades that followed. We always have to have thoughtful & respectful & transparent discussions about our history - accomplishments & drawbacks, but the point is we MUST have them. Signed, A Proud 21st-Century Canadian

Thanks to the viewer/640 listener/Ajax supporter who sent me this shoutout from Jamie Ellerton on TV last night. Not sure my name generally elicits gasps of excitement - in my experience it has not, but OK! He does nail why I’ve worked to get involved, why this is the right time, & why I want to be on the team that can fix this for young and old alike.
