Labour is simply refusing to answer questions about the people Keir Starmer has appointed to powerful positions. Jonathan Powell was handed the role of the PM’s Envoy to an overseas territory - as well as the UK’s National Security Advisor. It should not be a difficult question to answer as to whether or not he has security clearance. Something is seriously wrong with this Government.

The Government says waiting lists are falling. But the reality behind the numbers tells a very different story. In March alone, 351,000 patients were removed from NHS waiting lists without treatment. Almost the entire drop came from people being deleted off lists. At the same time, A&E delays remain near record highs, GP numbers are barely shifting, and frontline staff are still under immense pressure. This is moving people off paper, not helping them into treatment. It also still requires public spending to remove people from waiting lists, meaning Labour are spending millions in pursuit of fake headlines rather than properly treating patients. Sacking the civil servant, appointed after Sir Keir Starmer had already announced he was appointing Mandelson, is pointless. Fleeing to France the morning after the revelation that same man, a sex offender’s close friend, failed national security vetting, is pointless. Keir Starmer telling everyone he is frustrated about this situation, is pointless. He just needs to go.
