Furious farmer sprays dozens of luxury cars with slurry after drivers ignored signs and illegally parked in his field during scorching Bank Holiday heatwave. At least 20 vehicles, including Mercedes, Jaguars and BMWs, were left covered in thick cow manure near Rydal Water in the Lake District, Cumbria. Clear signs reading “Polite Notice, DO NOT PARK IN THE FIELD” and “SHEEP IN FIELD” had been ignored, with drivers even moving rocks placed to block access. Footage shows the farmer driving his slurry tanker up and down the field, hosing the parked cars in the baking heat. Cumbria Police confirmed they were called at 10pm on May 25 and are now carrying out enquiries, while many locals say the drivers got exactly what they deserved. Classic case of “park like an idiot, pay the price.”

Chilling CCTV footage shows French mother and stepfather calmly driving with their two young sons happily playing in the back seat, just moments before they allegedly abandoned them in remote Portuguese woodland. The video, captured at a petrol station in Miranda do Douro on May 11, shows Marine Rousseau, 41, from Colmar in eastern France, and her partner Marc Ballabriga with 5-year-old Barthélémy and 3-year-old Zacharie. The couple had driven over 1,000 miles from France before blindfolding the terrified toddlers in the woods near Alcácer do Sal and telling them it was a twisted “game to drive away the devil” they had to dig up a buried knife to cut off the blindfolds. The parents then drove off, leaving the boys completely alone with only small backpacks containing spare clothes, fruit, biscuits and water. Hours later the little boys were found screaming and crying on the side of a quiet rural road, covered in dirt and bruises. Marine and Marc have now been arrested in Fátima on suspicion of child abandonment and endangerment. The boys are safe in foster care and will be returned to family in France.

Benefit cheat who claimed she was housebound and unable to walk ran multiple 10k races while raking in £25,244 in disability payments Lisa Thompson, 49, from Shrewsbury, Shropshire, told the Department for Work and Pensions she was severely disabled and needed help with basic daily tasks. She was awarded Personal Independence Payment (PIP) at the enhanced rate, including a Motability car, over several years. DWP investigators discovered she had competed in at least three 10k races in 2020 and 2021, including the Market Drayton 10k where she finished in one hour and three minutes. She was also seen taking part in combat classes at a gym. Thompson pleaded guilty at Shrewsbury Crown Court to fraud by false representation and was jailed for seven months.
