Does the APC in Lagos have any sense of decency or competence? Why should everyone on the Island be trapped in traffic simply because of your summit at TBS? This is utterly ridiculous. Madness, even. First, you have a Commissioner for Transport, you control LASTMA, and you have the RRS under your influence, yet you still cannot manage simple traffic flow around your own event? Secondly, between Marina and Bonny Camp, there are several parking facilities — both public and private. Doesn’t common sense suggest that arrangements should have been made with these parking lots so buses conveying your members could park properly while traffic continues to flow? Is basic competence too much to ask for? Shame on all of you.

When I visited Jakande housing estate at Ilasan, Engr Moro stood next to me, he did absolutely no wrong. He stated that the government should compensate title holders fairly before making landlords homeless. In front of me agents of The Lagos State Govt beat him mercilessly till he fainted. He was then detained and recently moved from Task Force base at Oshodi to Kirikiri . This man is being held for asking Lagos state to follow the law and respect the court Injunction, instead The Lagos State Govt chose to be lawless and then harm citizens for demanding fair compensation. The Magistrate set the following bail conditions: Bail Conditions: 1. N200,000 2. Two sureties gainfully employed with the Lagos State Government 3. Evidence of payment of tax for three (3)years 4. Proof of employment (Letter of appointment and ID card) (Magistrate added that the HOS must write a letter approving the sureties to stand as surety) In the video below, you see Engr Maro calmly showing the agents of destruction and demolition the court injunction barring them from demolishing the buildings and rendering them homeless. For how long will a lawless government continue to intimidate and hurt citizens demanding for fair treatment and Justice. We continue to learn, to grow, to expand our territory, sphere of influence and build bridges across generations, class, tribe and ideology. It has been a long journey, it has been an amazing journey. Together we can. #ourlagos

Unlike some, i have only one passport and have sworn no allegiance to any other state. Nigeria is all I have. A war with a people who appear to be uniting around a common interest, seeking economic freedom and a departure from over bearing western influence will have very dire consequences for our image as a regional power and could pose much graver security threats. Their alliance in the footprint of the ancient songhai empire is not by accident, their fight is also ideological with the memory of Thomas Sankara being evoked. For several years in recent times, we have seen both political and military leaders send patriotic soldiers to war illequiped and with very little remuneration while they reward themselves with vanities. We are still grappling with major insecurity as a result of the destabilization of Libya by France and its Allies, and because Africa did not present a United front, west africa is paying the price for that destabilization. Forget the fact that we have serious internal security challenges that is stretching our military, or the fact that our economy is in a parlous state, how does it make sense that Nigeria wants to lead an effort to spill the blood of people who are seeking emancipation? We must focus on a diplomatic solution. Nigeria cannot afford to be enmeshed in a war and we must stand against international destabilization of the region, if we don't, it will be a mess we will eventually clean up and pay dearly for, ask Libya.

If Alhaji Jakande and Mobolaji Johnson focused on building houses for the rich and allocating government homes and lands to friends and cronies, 90% of the political elites in Lagos today would have grown up in slums. But sadly, these ~politicians~ profiteers, who enjoyed public housing, public education and public health have completely lost their humanity. Ejecting thousands of children from their homes at midnight and leaving families helpless on the streets. I’ve made myself clear on this matter on multiple occasions. I do not condone illegal buildings but when government is criminally complicit it loses the moral right to demolish houses recklessly. Not even when the same government, despite several appeals, has failed to make adequate investment in public housing. The APC has brought enough pain to the people. It has not only failed to deliver on basic public infrastructure, it is now bent on taking away the hard work and investments of working families. This has to stop. Egypt built over 100,000 flats in Cairo to provide decent housing for slum dwellers but Lagos is forcing thousands into slums with it reckless policies, inhumanity and corruption. Today, I was moved to tears after my visit to Oworoshoki. I witnessed firsthand how men of means have been reduced to destitutes, how women have been stripped of their dignities and how children have had their dreams stolen. Today all they ask for is some form of compensation, something to help them pick up the pieces of their lives. LAGOS needs to be so much more humane. #Ourlagos #Ekotiwa
