This year's Latvian 🇱🇻 singer in Eurovision reminded me of ours in 1999. It was only the 2nd time we participated (first time we ended up last with 0 votes), and this song ended up 20th out of 24 countries. It's sung in the Samogitian dialoct of Lithuanian 🇱🇹 language. (1/2)

Today, March 11, in 1990, Lithuania 🇱🇹 voted to exit the Soviet Union. Vytautas Landsbergis: "These hugs are shared with all of you. Lithuania is free. In spirit and by law." And so is Ukraine 🇺🇦, today and always. Happy Restitution of Independence Day to all Lithuanians!
