Do you know about the Djibouti–Somalia proposal to Ethiopia, which aimed to persuade Ethiopia not to recognise Somaliland? This proposal is said to have prompted Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Ismaïl Omar Guelleh to request two meetings (and a third involving Djibouti) within three months. The proposal allegedly involved withdrawing and rearranging the borders in the Horn of Africa among the three countries. Under this plan: - Djibouti would become a fully Somali country, gaining land from Sitti, Harawo, and Awdal (covering all Issa and Gadabuursi territories). - Ethiopia would receive the Afar regions of Djibouti, giving it access to the sea. - The Hawd, Reserved Area, and Ogaden would be returned to Somaliland, which would then be forced to join Somalia’s military. In their view, everyone would gain something. The proposal reportedly leaked to the media and has been implicitly mentioned by Abubakar Baale at the UN and by Osoble on Facebook. It is also said to be linked to the maps attached to the “Xeet Ciise” submission to UNESCO, which was allegedly approved by Djibouti, Ethiopia, and Somalia.

This is right in the middle of Borama, in front of Eelo University, in Harawo market. Schoolers are calling the youth and young generation to defend and stand for their country. I call on Gadabuursi and Ciise to unite and mobilize their people to block the borders from Xariirad to Geestir if necessary. The government should provide them the legitimacy for full statehood, this will prevent the implementation of the agreement..

The Somali president of the Somali region in Ethiopia Mustafe M. Omer received unexpected answers from Somali students at Jigjiga University, the capital of the Somali region. Somali Galbeed. He was surprised by their clear distinction between being Somali and Ethiopian. He asked them, "Are you not Ethiopian? Isn’t this region part of Ethiopia?" The students' responses were striking: "We are Somali, we are from Ogadenia, and we have nothing to do with Ethiopia. Ethiopia is occupying our land." #Somalia #Ethiopia #Egypt #Eritrea

What is the case ? Any logical explanation How is it that the culture of Eebe Qorii Bunna in Borana (Kenya) and Bunaysi in Abgaal (Somalia) is the same, and there is no similar tradition in the geographic areas between them? How can the same subculture exist among different groups in different countries ? 🤔

🚨 Breaking News: Just days after Somalia signed major agreements with Qatar, Al-Qaeda affiliate Al-Shabaab released videos threatening Somaliland and Israel in Lascanood city administration. Hassan visited the city recently with a massive military mobilization, though such forces no longer appear to remain. Qatar + Money + Mobilization + Somalia = ?! 🤔

President of #Kenya, William Ruto: “I can tell you without an iota of doubt that the African Union as it is today is.. not fit for purpose. …it’s not fit to provide the leadership that this continent needs to move into the future.” The AU Chairperson, a former foreign minister of tiny dictatorship state of #Djibouti, is dragging the organization in the wrong direction. African leaders are increasingly uneasy with its current approach. He has turned the organization into a situation resembling his own country a slum sewer. Instead of acknowledging the real achievements of African models of democracy and good governance, such as Somaliland’s long-standing stability and functioning institutions, the AU is leaning toward outdated, heavy-handed positions that ignore realities on the ground and instead supporting the stance and the claim of the failed, corrupt, and fragile state models like #Somalia. It condemns Somaliland’s basic right to build its own relations with other countries, which is a mistake and a form of oppression against positive developments on the continent. Ironically, this same oppression reflects the current policy and situation in Djibouti the country of the AU Chairperson. Notably, the #Israeli ambassador to #Somaliland, whose appointment the #AU has recently condemned, previously headed the Israeli embassy in Kenya.

Arabs are increasingly educating themselves about Somaliland and sharing key historical and political truths, as reported in the Scenarios program on Al Jazeera: - Somaliland holds the strategic key to the Horn of Africa and the Bab al-Mandab gateway. - It spans approximately 177,000 km², with a population of about 6 million people, made up of Isaaq, Darood, and Samaroon clans. - Somaliland gained independence in 1960 and was recognized by 33 countries before voluntarily uniting with Somalia. #SomalilandRecognition

A Somali false F-16 claim, an instant Turkish denial, and a laughable retreat Somalia’s defense minister turned reckless rhetoric into a public diplomatic humiliation and squandered allied trust. In a reckless and unprecedented diplomatic blunder, Somali Defense Minister Ahmed Moallim Fiqi falsely claimed that Turkish F-16s in Mogadishu belonged to Somalia. a claim instantly crushed by Turkey’s official denial. His retreat behind the laughable excuse of “faulty loudspeakers” transformed a blatant lie into a national embarrassment, exposing staggering incompetence and a dangerous disregard for truth at the highest levels of government. #Somalia #Turkey #F16

Embarrassment never ends with these people humiliating themselves on the world stage at every single opportunity. An Al Jazeera journalist asked Somalia’s State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali Balcad, a very clear and direct question about Somaliland’s claims: that Somaliland is more developed, more stable, and has stronger democratic institutions, governance, and systems than Somalia. The question was simple: How do you respond to these claims? Instead of answering any of those points, the minister responded with this: “Somaliland is a British-colonised region consisting of three regions. Isaaq is a tribe in the middle, 40% of the population. The west and the east want Somalia. Somalia has 400 clans.” Not a single sentence addressed the actual question. No answer about: development, stability, democracy, institutions and governance Nothing. Regardless of your view on Somaliland, or whether a country is big or small, internally divided or cohesive, large in number or limited in size, or where it is located, the question was straightforward: 👉 Is Somaliland better than Somalia in these areas, or not? What the minister delivered instead was a baseless demographic rant that neither answers the question nor defends Somalia’s position. It only confused the journalist and embarrassed the audience. Worse, his response ignored reality and well-documented facts on the ground, exposing a clear incapacity to comprehend the political situation he is supposed to represent. Let’s correct a few false narratives he pushed: - “Somaliland is three regions” False. At no point under the British Protectorate, the Somali Republic, or Somaliland has Somaliland ever been a “three-region” entity. Historically and legally, Somaliland has always consisted of six districts inherited from the British, with full constitutional control over five, and partial presence in one Laascaanood district. - Demographics misrepresented. Isaaq communities exist in five out of the six districts, not “in the middle.” Somaliland exercises territorial control over more than 89% of its claimed territory, and Isaaq constitute well over 40% of the total population. But here’s the key point none of this was even asked. The question was not about tribes, not about clan arithmetic, and not about population distribution. The Somaliland case rests on legitimacy, history, inherited borders, and compliance with international norms, alongside the practical reality of a functioning state with elections, institutions, and governance all features of modern statehood. The journalist asked about state performance and governance. The minister replied with tribal talking points. That alone tells you everything. When a foreign minister cannot distinguish between statehood and clanism, between governance and genealogy, the embarrassment is not accidental it is structural. And unfortunately, it is broadcast live to the world.

Federal regional state delegations brought their own security to Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, which was supposed to host them. Puntland and Jubaland secured their delegation with a heavily armed presidential guard, winning the dispute over whether the Somali government would provide security. Today, the city descended into chaos as unpaid soldiers demanding their salaries blocked the road between Haanta Dheer and Deyliile, exposing the failure of federal security and leadership. Even troops assigned to protect official delegations joined the unrest, highlighting the serious danger and the need for strong precautions. Puntland and Jubaland remain in Mogadishu under their own security.

This is confirmation from Dr. Baxar, the leader of the Awdal State Movement, that Hassan Sheikh the president of #Somalia has handed over and sent the case of #Awdal to another country, #Djibouti while there tension with #Ethiopia Both the Djibouti and Somali governments prioritize removing Muuse Biixi from the presidency through peaceful and electoral means. I can understand the position of Djibouti (I have written many times that it is a country whose existence depends on the crisis in Somalia, benefiting from Somalia not being settled, Somaliland not being recognized, Awdal not having political independence, and Ethiopia not having sea access). What cannot be explained and will be left for history is the decision of Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. Handing over the case of Awdal to another country is nothing but national betrayal, and it will be marked down in
