🇯🇵 A Japanese news reporter accidentally reads a comment on the news which uses the phrases "f*cking hot" and can't stop laughing about it. While this lady is usually reading the news, I think most people watch this type of program because of her and not the weather.

🇯🇵 It was raining hard in Osaka. Really love the colors, sound and lighting here.

🇯🇵 Aikawa Nanase was a very popular singer in the 90s/2000s in Japan. Once in a while, she still shows up at baseball games and other events to perform some of her hits. Personally, I think she looks really good at 50!

🇯🇵 A quiet night + unnecessarily pretty vending machines. Just another night in Japan.

🇯🇵 This commercial from 20 years ago featured Yu Aoi who would go on to become one of Japan's most popular actresses. Sayo Aizawa is also featured here. Shiseido advertised their shampoo with the slogan "Japanese women are beautiful". Everyone really looked their best here!

🇯🇵⛩️ This dance is called "kagura" which is a sacred Shinto dance by miko (shrine maidens) from about 1300 years ago. It's often performed at festivals to connect heaven and the earth. I always love to see it.

🇯🇵 The "kagura" is a sacred Shinto dance which is done by miko (shrine maidens). It dates back to 1300 years ago. You can see often see it being performed at festivals.

🇯🇵 Nagano Prefecture has some of the best nature in Japan. In the winter it's all covered in snow but in the summer it looks more like this.

🇯🇵 Kora Taisha in Fukuoka is probably my favorite shrine in Japan. No one knows when it was founded but its first mention is in 795 AD in an historical text. The view from the shrine is amazing.

🇯🇵 I never experienced Japan in the 1980s but I really wish I could have.

🇯🇵 Lost In Translation (2003) really shows a version of Tokyo that is forever gone. Before smartphones and all other conveniences. It's so interesting to see Tokyo through the eyes of a foreign person. Especially from that time period.

🇯🇵 Despite Tokyo being such a big city, Toyosu Park is often quite quiet if you go at the right time. It also has an amazing and beautiful view. (source: nachan_photrip)

🇯🇵 There's a video of Japanese idol Kubo Shiori throwing a pitch at around 60 km/h (about 37 mph). However, people online edited the audio to make it sound like it was thrown at 160 km/h. Unfortunately, some people actually believed it. 😅

🇯🇵 Shibuya in 2002 looks so similar yet so different from Shibuya today. It's hard to explain why.

🇯🇵 The Japanese countryside is so gorgeous. It almost seems like AI but it's actually real. (source: hakka2025)

🇯🇵 The best way to spend a rainy day in Japan. I can't imagine anything more peaceful than this.

🇯🇵 Hasedara is a temple located in Nara. This temple was originally completed around the year 686 AD. In the winter, it's especially beautiful when it snows.

🇯🇵 The Japanese countryside is the perfect place to relax. I love this type of view.

🇯🇵 Japanese actress Satomi Ishihara threw a ceremonial first pitch years ago at Tokyo Dome. It wasn't the best pitch... but a lot of people were impressed by her "tornado style" throw and posture.

🇯🇵 The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is very nostalgic anime for us in Japan. I remember how popular this song was when I was in elementary school. I especially like Enako's cover with the bunny cosplay. It's so cute!

🇯🇵 Last week was the 19th Nipponbashi Street Festival in Osaka. One parade featured maids from Nipponbashi's maid cafes. While most people know of the maid cafes in Akihabara, Osaka also has many of them in the Nipponbashi area.

🇯🇵 This Japanese Coke commercial from 1988 is absolutely amazing. They both look like they're having so much fun. When we watched this CM at school in media class many people commented that "they look like they're drinking alcohol and not only coke". I think so too. 😅

🇯🇵 Japanese sportscaster and talent, Ami Inamura (稲村亜美), threw her fastest ball ever at 103 km/h (64 mph). I imagine that for a non-professional this is pretty impressive!

🇯🇵 Japanese sportscaster and talent, Ami Inamura (稲村亜美), threw her fastest ball ever at 103 km/h. For a non-professional player, she's quite impressive! I love it.

🇯🇵 This is what Japan looked like in 1956 - only 11 years after the end of World War II. An incredible recovery which is so difficult to even imagine.

🇯🇵 This song actually was never that popular in Japan until recently. It got popular outside of Japan and suddenly it started playing everywhere here too at shops. It's interesting how that works out.

🇯🇵 In "Boku no Natsuyasumi 3", a game set in summer 1975, you can tune into vintage Japanese radio. The warm colors and nostalgic songs perfectly capture that Showa-era rural summer feeling. It's just so comforting.

🇯🇵 This is the southernmost fire festival on Honshu. The Kushimoto Koza High School's archery club held a fire lighting ceremony. Very cool.

🇯🇵 In the mid 90s, "loose socks" became very popular for girls in Japan. It was extremely common to see girls wearing these to school. Some of them used double-sided tape and tried to make them look more "loose" because it looked more fashionable.

🇯🇵 Often in Japan, when people are crossing over train tracks, the barrier comes down only a few seconds later. This can be dangerous if you're not careful. Thankfully, a random man saved this 90 year old lady only a few seconds from impact.

🇯🇵 Japanese actress and martial artist Rina Takeda broke a stack of 10 cement or stone blocks with her forehead at a baseball game. She then tries to throw the first pitch but misses. Her headbutt was pretty cool though!

🇯🇵 Tokyo from the mid 80s almost looks a dream but this is actually real. It's not AI but instead from Wim Wenders' "Tokyo-Ga" from 1985.

🇯🇵 Fun fact: this song actually isn't that well known in Japan but for whatever reason got super popular abroad. Because of that, you can sometimes hear it playing at some shops.

🇯🇵 Recently, Japan is killing it with high school rock bands! I'm glad to see we're slowly bringing this type of music back.

🇯🇵 I was surprised to find out that Wasabi was a French film from 2001 which takes place in Japan. The fashion style and Y2K colors are so interesting.

🇯🇵 "Last Summer Whisper" by ANRI, which was released in 1982, is still the perfect Japanese summer song.

⛩️ This is called "kagura" which is a sacred Shinto dance by miko (shrine maidens) from 1300 years ago. It's often performed at festivals to connect heaven & earth.
