I personally don’t like Angel’s character, and I’m sorry but I still don’t think Xavier Smalls is giving what this role requires. Even the stripping sometimes feels like he’s doing community service. But beyond the acting, my bigger problem is Angel’s whole situation with Horace. I understand if Angel doesn’t want to sleep with a man. Fine. Nobody owes anybody sex. But then what exactly are you doing in this man’s house, enjoying his money, his luxury and his access while giving absolutely nothing emotionally in return? Horace doesn’t always seem to be asking Angel for sex anyway. Sometimes it feels like this man just wants companionship, attention, affection, somebody to make him feel wanted. And there are a million ways to give someone that without crossing a sexual boundary. Kiss him. Hug him. Cuddle him. Massage his shoulders. Sit with him. Make him laugh. Make the man feel like somebody actually wants him. 💁🏽 You don’t have to sleep with somebody to make them feel loved. 💁🏽 Because that’s where Angel starts losing me. You can’t keep rejecting the man, acting uncomfortable around him, refusing to play the role you’ve willingly stepped into, then continuously come back because you still want the benefits of his money. And Horace has clocked it too. He clearly likes Angel, but he also knows Angel doesn’t genuinely want him in the way he wants to be wanted. That’s why he’s increasingly like, “Okay, then get the fuck out of my face.” 😭😭😭 You can’t have your cake and eat it too. And honestly, the more I watch Angel, the more I think the real question isn’t whether he wants Horace. It’s how long he’s willing to keep pretending he doesn’t want the lifestyle Horace gives him and how long he’s willing to go to keep enjoying the lifestyle. 😂😂😂 #BeautyInBlack

I genuinely think Horace might be one of the most interesting characters in Beauty in Black because why is this man so aggressively homophobic towards Charles while he keeps finding himself in these questionable situations with Angel???😭😭😭 At some point, you stop seeing Horace’s hatred of Charles as just homophobia and start wondering if Tyler Perry is playing with “internalized homophobia”. Because what if Horace doesn’t hate Charles simply because Charles is gay? What if Charles represents something Horace has spent his entire life suppressing in himself?? And honestly, internalized homophobia doesn’t always make someone quietly conflicted. Sometimes it creates the loudest homophobe in the room. We have so many of them in our society. They hate gay people who have accepted themselves and are living freely, because those people represent a life they don’t have the balls to live themselves. And then they turn around, perform homophobia in public, condemn gay people, insult them, sometimes even try to destroy their lives, while secretly living the exact life they’re preaching against. Because why are you so obsessed with hating gay men when you’re also secretly sleeping with men? The hatred is starting to look less like morality and more like self-loathing. Horace trying to keep Vanny and Charles quiet by using the body/evidence Charles’s mother gave him as leverage was such a stupid move because Charles had already reached the point of no return.😭 Like, at that point, what exactly were you threatening him with? Charles genuinely didn’t give a fuck anymore. After everything that had happened, that was the absolute height of his breaking point. The leverage was basically useless because the fear was already gone. Charles might just be the mirror Horace desperately doesn’t want to look into.😂😂😂 #BeautyInBlack

My read on Kimmie and Horace is a little different from what everyone thinks tho. I don’t think Kimmie necessarily wants Horace. I think Kimmie wants what being connected to Horace gives her. And those are VERY different things. She may genuinely have some emotional attachment to him, and I don’t think we should completely rule that out. But Kimmie has always been a survivor who understands leverage. She came from a life of struggling, and now that she has finally gotten access to money, security, power and the Bellarie name, I don’t see her willingly putting herself in a position where she could lose all of that and return to where she started. Who wants to go back to struggling after you’ve finally made it out and who wants to litter around when you can have more??? And the timing of her sexual advance is what really makes me suspicious. Horace is getting better, his position is changing, and he’s becoming increasingly concerned about his legacy and who will eventually inherit everything he’s built. Charles doesn’t fit the future he envisioned, Roy is a complete mess, and neither of his sons seems to be giving him the heir he wants. So I’m wondering if Kimmie’s thinking several moves ahead. What if getting pregnant by Horace is part of the strategy? Because imagine Kimmie having Horace’s biological child. She wouldn’t just be Mrs. Bellarie on paper anymore. She’d be the mother of a potential Bellarie heir, which gives her an entirely different position in that family and makes her much harder to discard. And honestly, it doesn’t even have to be intentional. Kimmie could genuinely want Horace, sleep with him, accidentally get pregnant and suddenly find herself holding the most powerful card in the entire Bellarie family. I’m not saying this is definitely what she’s doing, but considering how much Kimmie has evolved from simply trying to survive to actually understanding how power works, I don’t think everything she’s doing with Horace is purely romantic. Maybe she wants him. Maybe she wants the security. Maybe she wants the family. Maybe she wants the heir. Or maybe she wants all of it. I would not be surprised if she’s already thinking ten moves ahead. 👀😂💯 #BeautyInBlack
