On 1 June, I exposed a R38 million borehole in Waterworks that the City drilled and abandoned in October 2025. Today, I returned and announced that we’re finishing what the City of Joburg refused to do. I spent my morning in Hillbrow today. It appears that public drinking is a norm. This is a reminder that consuming alcohol on the street, on sidewalks or in any public space is strictly prohibited. The ANC’s Minister of Water and Sanitation had a meltdown yesterday at the opening of a new water reservoir in Joburg, then went on to claim credit for a project that was started under a DA-led coalition government. DA councillors from the area supplied by this reservoir were not invited, despite members of other political parties being present.
