I'm not Pokemon guy, but I've owned Red since the day it came out. Been giving it another go almost every morning the last few weeks while I have a cup of coffee. I've been enjoying it and have accepted the grind. Also my battery is still kicking but I'm using saves states too.

We should have been able to do this across the desert instead.

I completed my launch copy of Pokemon Red for the first time ever and it happened to be the night of the 30th anniversary. It was a hollow victory. I wanted my starter to be the victor... but it wasn't meant to be. My god it was down to the wire. I was sweating.

I was watching an episode of Nick Arcade and this segment featuring a bunch of deep cut games and an early version of Sonic 2 was worth taking a deeper look at.

Never even heard of this game but saw a gif of it, saw its 4 bucks on Switch and its nuts. It's called Rogue Flight. It's more After Burner less Star Fox. Pretty rad.

If you're having trouble nailing a particular section of Star Fox the restart option is nice. There's no punishment for using it. It doesn't cost lives, you'll retain your laser upgrades and current score if it's a check point. Took me a few tries to hit this part.

I built a Star Fox Arwing from a 1993 issue of Nintendo Power, and I'm convinced no child successfully built this thing.

Been playing a little Beach Spikers for GameCube here and there. All of the product placement means this likely won't hit Switch. It'll be stuck on GameCube for eternity. Still my favorite sports game for it!

Here's a quick behind the scenes look at Hand-Drawn Game Guides: Mega Man where I flip through a bunch of the original art.

I've come to appreciate Friday the 13th for the NES over the years, but even if you don't like it, you gotta admit it's a mood. This track is short but sweet.

Recently bought a really gross, but cheap, Super Famicom. Let's make it beautiful! This is a deep clean. No retro brighting, no recapping the board or anything. Basic stuff anyone can do.

Metroid II best ending running on my original Game Boy that I've had since 1992. I kind of can't believe the amount of games I was able to play through on this. My vision must have been awesome because I can barely see it now.

Here's a look at the original Metroid guide I made a few years ago. You'll see pages are out of sequence and that it's actually 3 different notebooks. Once in a while I get a little bummed that I wasn't able to release this.
