Today we are providing £5 million to UNICEF Lebanon to support the urgent humanitarian response in Lebanon. The number of civilian casualties is unacceptable and the UK is deeply concerned by the surge in numbers of displaced people. An immediate ceasefire is essential.

There is a humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Hundreds of thousands lack food, shelter and sanitation while aid is held at the border. This is unforgivable. Restrictions must be lifted, crossings opened and NGOs allowed to work. The UK will do all it can to end this suffering.
