Boxing Podcast of the Year…Every Year

Shorts

A quick assessment of Ben Whittaker after last night: 1. The kid is definitely talented and skilled. He has every tool a boxer needs. 2. The Andy Lee thing might not be the right fit. They always associate Andy Lee with the Kronk style, but you’ve never seen Ben unleash a double jab, right hand like Kronk fighter were known for. 3. He needs to find more power from somewhere. Better mechanics and better contact points would help. 4. He needs an inside game because at the top level, you need to break guys down, not just outbox them. 5. Based on yesterday, winning a British will be challenging in the current climate, but not impossible. 6. His never fight should be Zak Chelli. A natural rival and a guy that will test him the right way. 7. The Whittaker journey isn’t in choppy waters yet, but it could be in a fight or two. He needs to unleash his inner monster. The kid is gifted, but boxing needs more than that. 8. We really are living through a ‘lost generation’ of boxers.

This is unsettling and not what we want to see in boxing. No idea what this is taking out of him, but the risks of TBI rise exponentially. This is exactly what Senior was talking about. Let’s pray for no tragedies tomorrow.

Imagine ruining a coach’s reputation, gym and relationship with the fighter that made his name, then showing up to visit. The murderer always returns to the scene of the crime.

Proud coach day. Sometimes you just park all the technical talk and ask your boxer to go out there and make the opponent afraid of the rematch. Mission accomplished.

I think Eddie Hearn should tell us if Conor tried to leave MR in 2024 and whether he was looking at other options our in Miami. He knows. It hasn’t been great between those two since the failed tests.

I told you guys Ade Oladipo were hollow and his boxing ‘knowledge’ was just a means to get famous… Now you see it. Not quite a 419, but pretty close.

The one name I don’t want to hear this week is Eddie Hearn. He is the reason we had to go through all of this Conor Benn experimentation, just so he could get his money out of Conor. He nearly ruined boxing, just for his own bottom line. He is the real loser in all of this.

I can see why people are outraged about AJ behaving like this so soon after, you know what. But, it does show that he is okay physically and what we saw was actually a man in real decline - no excuses. But, let the young man have fun.

Let me guess: Froch pretending that they banned him from the event after they paid for his flights. Finds a way to sneak in and have a confrontation with Jake Paul. Jake says he lost to AJ but would smash Froch. The we get Paul v Froch - a fight nobody wants.

Can someone please check Martin Bakole’s contract because it looks like Billy Nelson has him on that 90/10 Don King split. No way have you had the 2025 he had and still be on the block.

If it is good enough for Tyson Fury to share, it’s fair that the boxing world also gets to see it. Basically, the question is whether Eddie Hearn is using Anthony Joshua to shake down Turki for one last payday.

So, if Eddie Hearn is being honest here, what’s going on with the Eddie Hills story? I thought he could fight. I thought he did fight? But, he is right, if he did fight, his dad would have footage to show.

This is why Eddie Hearn is a rat. He was prepared to let Conor Benn fight after failing two VADA tests, against a purposely weight-drives Eubank Jr. Now he cares about fairness?
