So, my iPhone upgraded to 26.1 overnight without my consent (instead 18.7.2). There’s jank and stutters everywhere, especially on the home screen. The status bar color morph is the worst. Why does the battery icon change colors with different duration? How did this pass QA.

Huge PSA for me. Big shift ahead. Tech with Expo is moving fast. What once felt solid now begs for change. And then, out of nowhere, it felt like the stars aligned. A spark I didn’t see coming lit the way forward. Standing still stopped making sense. Time to move.

Imagine investigating why react-native-screens navigation on Android is broken with the default animation, only to find out it’s because of <BlurView /> from Expo, which we’re using in the tabs. After removing it on Android, the navigation bugs are gone.
