Surviving 400+ bee stings: How I cheated death in the Vindhyas Last week, on 20th of February, at around 12:30 pm, a disaster unfolded on a remote Vindhyan peak in Panna, MP. Explored the temples at the Parmal tank inside the Ajaigarh fort. Found a new pilgrim's record from circa 12-13th century CE during this visit. Previously also, I have discovered some other pilgrims records from the same temple. Previously, I also made an interesting observation regarding one of the Chandela inscriptions here, originally discovered by Alexander Cunningham. 1/2

Visited another lost Shiva temple in Panna. Hidden in the trees on a plot of land surrounded by farmland, this temple isn't located on the map. Got to know about it through a friend last year. Was lucky enough to finally visit it. 1/4

Explored the Parmal tank in the Ajaigarh fort in search of lost inscriptions reported by JD Beglar in 1878 one of which recorded the date of 1269. Another inscription here recorded the name of Māhila Varmma, the minister of Paramardideva. I tried searching every corner of the tank, however I couldn't locate either of these records. 1/3

A Shiva temple at Parmal tank, Ajaigarh fort. A label inscription inside the sanctum recording the legend "Śrī-Kīrttijayeśvaraḥ" suggests it was erected by Kirttivarman Chandela in the 11th century. Another record from the 13th century on the round entrance of the temple suggests it was renovated by Suhaḍadeva of the Śrīvāstavya family that served as hereditary ministers to the Chandelas. 1/n
