Today, I joined the bereaved families of the late Edrine Kirumira, Joseph Ainebyona and Ronald Nasima, who tragically lost their lives in South Africa, to convey the heartfelt condolences of H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the Government of Uganda. On behalf of H.E. the President, I handed over a condolence contribution of UGX 10 million to each of the three bereaved families as a gesture of compassion and solidarity during this profoundly difficult time. While no amount of support can fill the void left by the loss of their loved ones, I pray that this gesture offers comfort and reminds the families that they are not alone. May the Almighty grant the departed eternal rest and give their families strength, peace and courage in the days ahead. To the families of Edrine Kirumira, Joseph Ainebyona and Ronald Nasima, please accept our deepest sympathies.

I was pleased to receive H.E. Vice President Jessica Alupo upon her arrival in Cairo, Egypt, ahead of the 8th African Union Mid-Year Coordination Meeting, which brings together African leaders and heads of Regional Economic Communities to advance continental cooperation and integration. The meeting will take place in New Alamein on 4th October 2026, as part of a series of high-level African engagements hosted by Egypt. We look forward to fruitful engagements as Uganda joins fellow African countries in discussions on matters of shared continental interest.

Kalangala belongs to the people of Kalangala, and its future must remain in their hands. My belief is that leadership should be entrusted to those who understand and champion the aspirations of the local people. I call upon the people of Kalangala to rally behind Hon. Idah Nabayiga, a leader committed to advancing the district’s development and safeguarding its interests. Together, let us choose leadership that puts Kalangala first.

It is no surprise that many of National Unity Platform’s failed politicians have descended on Kalangala, hoping to impose yet another failed experiment on the people. Kalangala deserves focused, accountable, and development-oriented leadership, not recycled failures. I urge the people of Kalangala to reject politics of deception and stand firmly behind Hon. Idah Nabayiga, a leader committed to delivering real results. On polling day, let us vote wisely and secure a brighter future for Kalangala.
