BREAKING: Iran has started launching a heavy wave of ballistic missile and drone attacks against U.S. and allied military sites across the Gulf in retaliation for today's U.S. strikes on Iranian territory. Jordan: Iran reportedly fired 12 ballistic missiles toward Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, with preliminary reports of three impacts. Jordanian air defenses were activated. The base is believed to host U.S. F-35 fighter jets. Bahrain: Sirens have sounded, with Fars News reporting explosions near American military facilities. The latest reports suggest Iran may be targeting the U.S. Fifth Fleet headquarters. Kuwait: Explosions have also been reported as Iranian missiles targeted regional military sites. UAE: The Ministry of Defense said UAE air defenses are intercepting ballistic missiles and drones. Multiple explosions have been reported across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, marking the first reported Iranian strike on the UAE in over two months. Qatar: Initial reports also indicate explosions. Note: In a previous Iranian strike on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, satellite imagery appeared to show damaged or destroyed hangars.

JUST IN: Despite two U.S. aircraft carriers—the USS Abraham Lincoln and USS George H.W. Bush—and one of the heaviest U.S. air deployments of the conflict, the U.S.-backed Omani corridor still remains virtually empty. Sentinel-2 imagery dated July 10 shows the USS Abraham Lincoln operating roughly 250 km off Iran's coast near Chabahar, while the USS George H.W. Bush has been located just 162 km away, with both carrier groups reportedly accompanied by destroyers and an oiler, well within heavy Iranian strike range. MarineTraffic data over the past 24 hours shows just five merchant vessels completed the Strait of Hormuz transit—and all five used Iran's northern traffic separation scheme. One vessel, Jin Zeng 5, initially appeared to route through the U.S.-backed southern Omani corridor, but altered course before entering the Strait and instead completed its transit via Iran's northern route.

BREAKING: Heavy U.S. air cover has returned to the Strait of Hormuz in last 24 hours, with fighter jets, E-3 AWACS aircraft, and aerial refueling tankers supporting renewed tanker transits through the southern Omani corridor. MarineTraffic data shows at least three VLCCs entered the Gulf over the past 24 hours, while several more remain anchored off Fujairah awaiting escort. But the real bottleneck remains. There are not enough VLCCs to reverse the Gulf's production shut-ins at scale, with much of today's exports still coming from stored crude rather than new output. Shipping is recovering under heavy military protection. Oil production is not.
