California taxpayers cover 15% of the US Forest Service budget, but consume 50% of it, with nearly half of all the entire nation's federal firefighters stationed in CA, and the worst fires eating up half the suppression budget for the entire country. The Feds even reimbursed CalFire and LAFD for 100% of the costs of the Eaton and Palisades Fires through FMAGs. California is generally a donor state when it comes to federal taxes, thanks primarily to all the tech billionaires based there. But when it comes to fire, California under Gavin Newsom's leadership is an absolute money suck for federal dollars, consuming far more than it contributes. Unsurprisingly, CA doesn't use up 50% of the fuels mitigation budget, like they do with the suppression budget. CA only uses 15% of that budget, specifically because the California Air Resources Board blocks prescribed fire projects, and crazy NGOs and activists in the Forest Service in CA block fuel reduction projects to "protect" the spotted owl or some stupid plant like the Milk Vetch. Because of this negligence and the environmental roadblocks, towns like the Palisades and Grizzly Flats get nuked to oblivion, creating a $100Bn albatross around the necks of Californians. Despite the fact that federal taxpayers overly-subsidize Gavin Newsom's atrocious fire management failures to an outsized degree, he expects taxpayers around the country to pick up the tab for his state park burning down the Palisades. I honestly don't know what to say about this insanity anymore. I'm very glad to hear from Spencer that the democrat establishment hates Gavin and won't let him near the White House...but there has to be a reckoning for his destructive leadership at some point.

Anyone who perpetuates the “100mph wind” lie with the Palisades Fire needs to be excommunicated from polite society. Only scumbags in leadership and politically tribal rubes cling to this myth because it gives Gavin and the LAFD their get out of jail free card. Never happened.

TMZ's Harvey Levin endorses Spencer Pratt for LA Mayor. "Spencer won the debate", with Mark Geragos adding "oh he won it, clearly". Levin says that he texted Pratt he was concerned about his lack of government experience, "but then he gave me two names. I know these 2 people...they're both very accomplished people in the city of LA...so, if those two people are on board, and that's the level at which he's playing...there's some hope there."

WOW! Watch to the end. Video of the Lachman Fire on Topanga State Park *still* smoldering by the eventual Palisades Fire origin...the fire no longer plumbed, all hoses gone, no firefighters, no patrol...Newsom's state park just let this burn unattended. UNACCEPTABLE mop-up.

This is the scene in our documentary Hotshot that screwed it from getting sold at Netflix and HBO, and it's probably the most important for people to see. Our film implores Californians that if they clear their brush, they actually have a shot of withstanding an 85mph firestorm, and obsessing over climate is a distraction (when it comes to wildfire)...we show that throughout history, we've always had massive fires, and they actually used to be worse, even way back when the climate was "optimal", and everyone screaming "unprecedented" just doesn't know their fire history. When we were in negotiations, these production companies didn't like that message, and wanted us to re-edit the film to make it climate-focused. We pushed back and told them "being climate-focused is why CA is in the mess that it's in...and continuing to ignore the dire fuels problem means that there's going to be another massive fire that nukes everything, and when everybody's watching their Teslas burning in their Malibu garage covered in solar panels...nobody's going to understand why it happened." They didn't like that. Well, here we are. I didn't re-cut the film. I left it as-is and released it independently. I really wish that this cult-like activism hadn't poisoned Hollywood. I really wish people had listened. I feel like Cassandra with a mustache and I legit lose hair over it. Oh well. Hollywood is dead, anyway.

This is what Karen Bass called “political theater” today. A survivor of the Holocaust and the Palisades Fire, at 94, home nuked, and she is stuck in a bureaucratic nightmare. Is this how this incredible woman will be forced to live out her final years? Only in California, man.
