More than 300 people rallied Thursday evening at Texas A&M University in College Station, saying a new ban on teaching about race and gender is censoring classroom instruction and threatening academic freedom. A&M sophomore Madeline Kiser held a poster that read, "Don't cheapen our degrees." "It's embarrassing if I graduate from a university that isn't allowed to teach adults — who wanted to be here," said Kiser, an English major.
