WIP render of the next scene I've been working on for my ST short film. Stupid guy at the end is still skating on the top of the nacelle. :/

Another WIP Star Trek shot! This one will have a voiceover commenting on how they managed to prevent all but very minor damage, then you have these workbees in floor polish mode. :D Suggestions welcome!

Tons of more details, polish, animation, fixes, and lighting work on this Star Trek shot, I'm now really happy with it! Movin on to the next. :D

The B-Wing Cockpit animation and model are done! I've been at this one for a while, and I'm relieved to have it finished, so I can move onto something else. Enjoy! Rendered in 3dsmax 2024 using VRay 7 GPU on a 4090 RTX. It took about 3-3.5m per frame.

Ooof. The sparks and ion discharge flicker on the TIE are busted. Everything else is pretty good, tho.

Okay, Trekfriendos, I'm done with this for now! I'm very happy with the results, so much so, I splurged on a low-noise, high-sample 25-hour render! Now I just gotta update the "retaliation" shot to match the new phaser and shield effects. 4K in the 🧵!

Next Star Trek short shot - low sample preview render version! I'm...quite honestly not sure what to add to this one, if anything. Ideas welcome! :D

Star Trek short shot Update: Tons of improvements on this one - added sparks, debris, flame, tuned the animation, and a bunch of other stuff. Making progress, my estimate is about 80% done with the visuals! (Low sample WIP)

Next Star Trek short shot: Immediately after the USS Niimipuu blows the everliving crap out of a sneaky Romulan Raid-bird, she powers past the wreckage to lend aid to the USS Arges, who's also come under attack! ( Low sample firstpass WIP!)

Minor Update to this one, the lighting angles didn't match the sun-in-scene, so I fixed that. I also added the red alert lighting to this shot. #startrek 4K in the 🧵!

Holy crap! After about 56 hours of rendering, this Dry Dock fly around animation of the Concordia is done! The original design was commissioned by Josh Dworkin, The name and registry numbers are references to the CBN-65 Concordia carrier from Wing Commander 2! 4K in the 🧵!

Alrighty - my final update on this shot for now! Tons of revisions and fixes, as well as new Music SFX and VO. Added the welders welding, a few more work bees, the Arges in the background, and some changes to the lighting angle. 4K in the 🧵! I hope everyone likes it!

Okay, this is a massive re-render of this scene, with bespoke, actual voice work by Balwin Williams Jr - Tons of improvements and tweaks, and I really like how it ended up looking and sounding. I hope you like it!

Okay, folks - the re-renders and relighting and detail adds and everything are done. Here's the first 3 scenes all stitched together, with the 3rd still needing it's cockpit. I'm very happy with this, I dont think I'm going to change it unless its *really* important. 4K in the 🧵

Okay, got the Wing Leader Hornet cockpit lit properly with all the damage and broken bits properly responding to the light angle. Now here's the question - should I do this for the rest of the cockpits? Is this worth it? I like it, I just dunno if it's that cool. :/

So as I'm healing, I'm getting the creative spark back - here's a shot from after the battle, with some wonderful EVA suits by Robert Rose! This is totally WIP, low-sample, and missing SFX. I'm gonna add workbees and repaired panels!

Alighty, Trek fans! I had a delightful chat with Terry and he asked that I do something similar to the Shangri-La flyby, but with the OG Titan, NCC-1777. I did so, but may have gone a bit.. more overboard. I really hope you enjoy! 4K in 🧵! (No homosapiens-only club here!)

Okay the Strakha is in and running in Wingleader! Still gotta make the icons and hook up the logic for the AI to use the cloak. Not bad for a long lunch project. :D

Got the Wing Leader Salthi Cockpit all hooked up! Looking pretty awesome, very happy with the results. It's very much a glass cannon speedster. It came together quick, future Kilrathi cockpits should be as fast or faster. :) Enjoy!

Even more detailing on this Star Trek commission! Gotta do the duck-fan cut out stuff, then the pylons and nacelles. Then it's onto texturing! USS Concordia design by Josh Dworkin. :)

Just finished putting this beast together. It's supposed to be a mid-point between a Bird of Prey and a D-7 Klingon Destroyer. I'm really happy with how it looks. It's currently unnamed, so if anyone has a clever class name for it, I'm open! 4K in the 🧵!

Hey, all! I could use some Wing Leader feedback and opinions. Which do you prefer, a pure pixel-art render, or *with* CRT-esque effects turned on? I'm about to update the rolling demo, and I was curious what the preference might be. :) Here's a video switching it on and off!

Okay, I integrated some fake shader-driven fluid-filled balls into the Krant cockpit, added bubbles, and I quite like the result. A small detail, to be sure, but an interesting one.

Got the Kilrathi Wingleader cockpits with legs and dual joysticks hooked up! Looks pretty cool, IMHO. Enjoy!

More work on the Wingleader project - attempting to render larger capital size ships as 3d models - but still retain the same pixel art look. Still early days. Yes, that's a Dorkir. :P
