Jacob Tierney reveals that in the original script of Shane’s coming out scene with Rose there was only one flashback, he explains that watching Hudson act and close his eyes made him decide to include more flashbacks 🤍 “There was a moment when I was watching Hudson act, and he took this pause and closed his eyes. In my head, I was imagining what he was imagining, and I wanted to try it on the screen. What’s so key is the sound. It’s a quick flash, an image. We don’t hear the sound from the particular scenes we flash to. The sound of the restaurant remains, which was one of the things I felt made it work psychologically."

It is an act of love to be able to do that. I love that it doesn’t feel like it’s this extraordinary act, Jacob wrote a scene that was about a mom who loves her son and is there to listen to him.”
