To those who DM asking if Pig farming is profitable my answer is yes it’s a business with incredible returns. Just this month, I sold 20 porkers averaging 70kg at $3.5/kg. That's a gross of $4,900! After transport and slaughter fees, I walked away with a clean $4,500. The best part? I reinvested $1,500 of that directly into buying a Boran Bull and $3000 on 7 heifers. And the cycle continues: some of my sows give birth to 20-24 piglets at a time. The 20 I sold could easily have come from just one sow. A few weeks ago, when I said my simple biogas digester turns 4 buckets of pig waste inoiswa daily mu biogas digester which in 2 weeks turns into 3000m3 of organic fertilizer some of which we are using for this maize field, some people thought I was exaggerating. 😄 Well, this is that field. Every single plant you see is thriving on nothing but the rich, liquid organic fertilizer produced as a byproduct of our biogas system. This isn't magic, it's microbiology. While the biogas (methane) gets used for cooking by my workers and heat for my piglets in the farrowing pens , the digested slurry is full of nutrients, ready to feed the soil. It's a closed-loop system right here on the farm in Mhondoro: The skeptics wanted proof? Here it is. The health of this crop speaks louder than any argument.

Cars belonging to Senator Mwonzora President of the MDC-T party were attacked today at the funeral of the late CCC Legislator Hon Hakata. A day before his leg was amputated the family struggled to raise money to buy blood that Doctors needed. He died 24 hrs later. We must respect the family of the deceased and allow people who want to come and commiserate with the family do so peacefully.

This is the current state of the road from Mhondoro, specifically the section between Mubaira and Binda, which I used last week. It is truly disheartening. I remember when I was young, my uncle—the late Governor of Mash West, Cde. Rukarwa—constantly raised the issue of this road. Funds for this road were misused as far back as the 80s My brother, Minister Felix Tapiwa Mhona, has assured Parliament that the government will prioritize this road. However, to this day, nothing has been done. I have spoken in Parliament on multiple occasions, and other MPs, including Mutsa Murombedzi MP🇿🇼 and the local MP, Hon. Chiwanza, have also added their voices. We are now collectively urging the Minister to at least send a grader to make the road usable while we await its full rehabilitation and tarring.

The biggest challenge with the Ministry of Finance is their complete disregard of the constitutional responsibility of Parliament to appropriate funds in the Budget. After the budget is approved they simply ignore it and by end of the year unauthorized expenditure will be more than what we appropriated. They don’t even bother to come to Parliament for condonation. In 2025 this must change!!!
