One of my favorite hidden moments on Voodoo is at the very end of “Feel Like Makin’ Love” when D’Angelo is talking to a woman (presumably, a reporter) about Quest and how he knew he’d be his drummer one day. The conversation is in the R ear while Quest is grooving in the L ear.

Been saying this. Music has prepped listeners for AI for decades. The overcorrection has been an issue.

The day when Pino Palladino met D’Angelo and Questlove. The trio was formed and the rest was history.

Mind you, this was in 2002. Everything from her tone to placement delivered a new option for singers who weren’t necessarily belters but could be technicians. Full Moon is game-changing because it’s incredibly smart on top of being instinctual.

Currently learning the art of healthily detaching from life’s results as an attempt to save mine. And what a journey. I feel so much lighter knowing that I won’t miss out on anything God has for me, so I don’t have to grip it. This clip really solidified the concept for me.
