Dhamtari Christian Hospital is a long-standing multi-specialty hospital in Dhamtari, established around 1910 and run by the Mennonite Medical Board. It has about 250 beds and provides healthcare to the region. In late June 2025, local activist groups, including BJP-affiliated organizations, organized protests in Dhamtari and Bilaspur. They alleged conversion activities under the hospital or associated prayer meetings, claiming religious gatherings intended to convert villagers. The hospital denied any wrongdoing and no official allegations or legal charges have been filed. There is no credible evidence or legal case proving that Dhamtari Christian Hospital engaged in forced conversions or malpractices.
