I honestly don’t know how to explain that I’m supposed to be in Paris next week, fully sponsored by the French Chamber of Commerce, yet, after more than two months, I still don’t have my visa. 🥲 One of the least talked about challenges African founders face is mobility. The hurdles for entrepreneurs without a second passport can be incredibly frustrating, especially when opportunities, partnerships, and global events often move faster than visa processes. And I say this from a position of relative privilege. I have travel history, I can only imagine how much harder it is for founders who are just starting out and don't have those advantages. We talk a lot about access to capital. We should also talk about access to movement. For many African founders, crossing borders is still harder than building businesses. 🥲
