This has been one of the most difficult days of my adult life. Here is my official public statement on the murder-suicide committed by my friend, legal colleague, and Divine-9 Member former VA Lt. Gov Justin Fairfax I am turning off comments because some of you cannot be civil, decent and respectful at this devastating moment. I spoke to Justin last two days ago, Tuesday via text. He was not in a good place. I never saw this coming. I tried with others to encourage him. We failed. I am heartsick. May God bless the Fairfax children. They must be our first and only priority. My thoughts on the #EricSwalwell allegations and how we need to engage these types of "oppo" research last minute campaign drops before primaries or general elections.. It's not okay. Both survivors and the accused deserve better. It's called due-process. Reputations once ruined, seldom recover. My thoughts are with the victims. And Rep. Eric Swalwell's family. #CAPrimary

I shared my thoughts Washington Journal on #SCOTUS Justice Clarence Thomas who replaced the late Justice Thurgood Marshall in 1991. He has consistently voted against the interests of black citizens. And today's #VotingRightsAct gutting is no exception. Ironic for a man who is black and has enjoyed the very freedoms he seems to abhor for others. #RedefiningFreedom
