Dear Ethiopians, Somalis and Djiboutians On behalf of the Somali Regional State, I extend my profound congratulations on the historic inscription of "Xeer Ciise: Oral Customary Laws of Somali-Issa Communities" into UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage List. This momentous achievement is a beacon of pride for all of us, symbolizing the enduring legacy and rich cultural heritage of our people. The recognition by UNESCO not only elevates the status of our traditional laws but also underscores the global significance of our cultural practices. Xeer Ciise, a cornerstone of our social structure, has long been a guiding force for peace, justice, and community cohesion among the Somali-Issa. This acknowledgment by the international community reaffirms our commitment to preserving these invaluable traditions. Let this celebration be a reminder of our collective responsibility to nurture and safeguard our cultural heritage for future generations. It's an invitation to deepen our engagement with our customs, fostering a sense of unity and shared identity across our borders. May this recognition inspire us to continue our efforts in promoting dialogue, cultural exchange, and mutual respect among our communities, ensuring that our legacy, like Xeer Ciise, remains vibrant and alive. I would like to thanks all those who contributed to this process particularly the Sitty heritage foundation. Thanks to the team that represented the community and the three countries including Minister Dauud Aweys, Minister Hibo Moumin, Ambassador Mahlet Hailu, Ambassador Ayeid Mousseid, Dr Hussein Kasim, Warsan Awil, Ayan Ali, and Abdirahman Osman, With utmost respect and congratulations,
