On my way to Monash Education on a very cold and foggy winter morning from Cranbourne, Australia. Returning to the Maldives wasn’t a bad decision, but believing I could truly make a difference in this country is a mistake I deeply regret. I call upon all Maldivians out there, studying and dreaming of doing big things, to never return to this country. Education and experience are not valued here—it’s all about your connections to the political party in power and those with lots of money.

No doctor at IGMH can explain how someone who had hip surgery, fully recovered, was walking and doing exercises, suddenly ended up losing his eyesight, losing his speech, becoming unable to breathe, losing mental capacity, and needing to be put on a ventilator. He’s no longer with us, but we just can’t let him go.
