Less than an hour after the Lebanese President Joseph Aoun stood in the Arab Islamic Summit in Doha asking “does Israel want peace?” and declaring astonishingly that Lebanon is “ready,” Israel replied with blood, murdering a Lebanese father before his children. Mr. President, your peace talk isn’t diplomacy; it’s either delusion or betrayal.

Obama Wanted to Go to Tehran… and Was Refused In a recent interview, former Lebanese General Security chief Abbas Ibrahim revealed this remarkable episode: During a visit to Washington, he met with the CIA director, who asked: “Do you go to Iran?” Ibrahim replied: “Yes.” Then: “Who is the highest official you’ve met there?” Ibrahim answered: “Sayyed Ali Khamenei.” Surprised, the CIA director cleared the room and spoke to him alone. He said “We need a favor.” The request: President Obama wanted Ibrahim to help arrange a visit to Tehran and a meeting with Sayyed Khamenei. Ibrahim explained that Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah arranged his own meeting with the Iranian leader and that he doubted Tehran would accept Obama. He delivered the message to Sayyed Nasrallah, who said he also doubted Iran would accept it, but still contacted the Iranians. The Iranians refused and said Obama was not welcome in Tehran.

Iran Successful in Stopping this Wave of U.S.-Israeli Attempts to Destabilize the Country Foreign Minister Araghchi stated that peaceful protests lasted three days, during which the government held direct talks with economic activists. However, armed terrorist groups soon infiltrated the demonstrations, hijacking their original peaceful nature. Evidence shows attacks on security forces were staged to inflate casualties, a demand from Trump, and most fatalities, including security personnel, were shot from behind. Armed attackers also killed the injured in ambulances, burned 53 mosques, and sabotaged public infrastructure. Araghchi presented diplomats with footage of attackers shooting and destroying government buildings, emphasizing that this was not a protest but a terrorist war on Iran. He confirmed U.S. and Israeli involvement, with Mossad and its affiliates linked to killings and riots. While the West publicly sympathizes with these armed groups, it remains silent on Israeli crimes in Gaza. Tehran’s million-strong march has already begun, drawing a large crowd, while rallies in dozens of other cities are also underway. The rallies are being held in support of the government and against what participants describe as U.S. and Israeli interference, including alleged backing of groups accused of spreading chaos and attempting to destabilize Iran. Funerals were held for police officers and civilians who were martyred in these foreign-backed terrorist operations. Despite the attacks, Iran successfully stopped the first wave of U.S.-Israeli efforts to destabilize the country. Security forces have full control over the situation, and internet services will be restored soon. Araghchi stressed that Iran is ready for serious, equitable negotiations, but will not accept imposed demands. The United States and Israel are expected to continue their interference, but Iran will not back down. The country remains fully prepared to confront any aggression, while also keeping the door open for dialogue. Today’s events are part of a broader continuation of U.S.-Israeli aggression, and Tehran asserts its readiness for both war and negotiation.

Who Truly Represents the Lebanese People? A Response to Morgan Ortagus The U.S. Envoy to Lebanon Former U.S. State Department spokesperson and American envoy to Lebanon Morgan Ortagus recently claimed that Hezbollah and Sheikh Naim Qassim “do not represent the Lebanese people.” But the numbers from Lebanon’s 2022 parliamentary elections tell a very different story. In those elections, Hezbollah secured 344,882 votes, while its main ally, the Amal Movement, received 190,663 votes. Together, the two core factions of the Lebanese Resistance bloc amassed 535,545 votes, a figure that dwarfs that of their rivals. On top of this, Hezbollah and Amal transferred around 45,000 votes to bolster their allied candidates, further expanding their influence. By contrast, the Lebanese Forces, widely recognized as the most pro-Israeli American political party in Lebanon, garnered only 183,771 votes, barely half of what Hezbollah alone secured. Even when combined with their allies, including Walid Joumblatt’s bloc and other factions, their total reached just 338,715 votes, a figure still smaller than Hezbollah’s tally alone. The imbalance is further highlighted by Lebanon’s notoriously flawed electoral system. Under the current rules, one Hezbollah parliamentarian needed 48,000 votes to secure a seat. Meanwhile, a party like the Kataeb, with only around 33,000 votes in total, managed to claim four parliamentary seats. Such distortions illustrate how the system underrepresents the very forces that hold the largest share of popular support. So when Ortagus dismisses Hezbollah and the Resistance as marginal forces, she is not only contradicting the facts, she is denying the democratic choice of hundreds of thousands of Lebanese voters. More importantly, she is ignoring the reality on the ground: Hezbollah and its allies are not fringe actors but a central pillar of Lebanon’s political and social fabric. If Washington and its local proxies continue to push decrees aimed at disarming the Resistance, they may soon witness the real measure of representation, not in parliamentary figures, but in millions of Lebanese taking to the streets to defend the only force they believe has safeguarded the country’s sovereignty.

The moment Israel and the United States unleashed all their hatred, malice, spite, and savagery upon one man. Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, a man who stood like an unshakable mountain in this region. They dropped 85 tons of explosives to kill just one man, because he terrified them. He was the safety valve that shielded the Arabs and the Middle East. After his martyrdom, we saw how even the Gulf states that once incited against him and worked to weaken him became targets. Since his martyrdom, the entire Middle East has been left exposed to Israel’s expansionist ambitions.

Former Saudi intelligence chief Prince Turki Al-Faisal warned of a civil war in Lebanon if Hezbollah is not disarmed. Once again, this exposes how deeply aligned the Saudis have always been with the Israeli project in the region, both sharing the same goal of disarming the resistance and weakening any force that stands against Israeli aggression. The same playbook they used to destabilize Syria and fuel conflicts, all to serve Israel’s interests and strike at the heart of the Axis of Resistance, is now being applied to Lebanon. This is nothing new, Saudi interference has plagued nearly every Arab country, from Lebanon and Syria to Iraq, Yemen, and Sudan, always serving one purpose: advancing Israeli interests by sowing division and igniting civil wars. Saudi Arabia doesn’t just share interests with Israel, we’ve seen how openly it defended the entity during this war. It intercepted missiles headed toward Israel and even opened its ports to facilitate goods after Yemen’s blockade of the Red Sea.

What Happened in Iran in the Last 24 Hours In the past 24 hours, groups linked to Israeli, regional, European, and American intelligence agencies were reported entering Iran’s border provinces. These foreign-backed groups face a key obstacle: protesters demonstrating over economic issues are not cooperating with attempts to create chaos. Some of these groups have now been deployed to Tehran to provoke unrest in certain neighborhoods. The strategy appears to be gradual: as individual areas experience disorder and receive external support, more people might be encouraged to join protests, potentially creating broader instability. What the U.S. and Israel are attempting in Tehran bears similarities to the early days of unrest in Libya and the initial phases of Syria’s conflict. However, the Iranian population is largely unresponsive, and the government appears fully aware of these foreign efforts. Large pro-government demonstrations were also held today, with participants calling for firm action against rioters. The state has reportedly succeeded in distinguishing between protesters with genuine economic grievances and foreign-backed troublemakers with political agendas. Calls for regime change and displays of the Pahlavi dynasty or the old flag remain a small minority phenomenon. Outside Tehran, foreign-backed agitators continue attempts to stir unrest, with mixed success. In Kermanshah, Iranian television broadcast footage showing Mossad-backed rioters opening fire on security forces, which resulted in the death of a young girl, a clear escalation of violence. Border regions with Afghanistan also experienced disturbances. In Qom, two security personnel were killed and two others injured. Despite these incidents, the situation remains under control, with government oversight and internet restrictions in effect. Public sentiment largely opposes foreign-backed unrest, and the government maintains a strong position. Disturbances may intensify at night but usually subside by morning. U.S., Israeli, and allied intelligence continue to monitor the situation, with key indicators being whether foreign-backed rioters can seize control of any neighborhoods or regions.

U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham Threatens Military Action Against Lebanon U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham has warned of a potential military operation against Lebanon, to be carried out jointly by the United States and Israel, should the resistance refuse to relinquish its weapons. This was not an off-the-cuff remark. It was U.S. policy stated plainly: in the Middle East, no actor is permitted to possess deterrence against Israel. Any force capable of defending itself is deemed illegitimate, not because it threatens stability, but because it constrains U.S.–Israeli freedom to strike, coerce, and impose outcomes. Under this doctrine, sovereignty becomes conditional. Resistance is rebranded as terrorism. Disarmament is enforced through ultimatums backed by the threat of war. The objective is not peace, but strategic sterilization, leaving states weak, exposed, and incapable of protecting their borders, resources, or political choices. What is presented as security is, in reality, domination. The United States and Israel are not behaving as states bound by law or norms. They are acting as coercive powers that threaten violence to compel submission, use military force to secure strategic advantage, and treat entire countries as prizes to be subdued rather than societies with rights.

Once again, Israel targets bulldozers and machinery used for reconstruction. At dawn today, the Israeli army struck the al-Musaylih area north of the Litani River, destroying more than 300 bulldozers, excavators, and several vehicles used for rebuilding, sending a familiar, unmistakable message: reconstruction in southern Lebanon is forbidden. This policy is not limited to areas south of the Litani river. Israel’s goal stretches to the Awali River near Sidon, aiming to depopulate southern Lebanon to make way for settlements.

Why were Tom Barrack and Morgan Ortagus really in Beirut today, and what message did they come to deliver? How did they try to spread fear in the hearts of the Lebanese? “Death is better than humiliation” is not just a saying here, it’s a way of existence they will never understand. from my discussion with Kevork Almassian
