José Mourinho: "The most complicated is when you don't have top players, or when someone is injured and you don't have alternatives who can maintain the requested level. That is the biggest problem that a coach can have. I had that problem in the past few years, because I was in teams who aren't exaclty the best teams in Europe. I won't have that problem here." "If I tell you what are the limitations, I will be telling my opponents something that I don't want them to understand, or at least that they only understand after they've already lost the match. But if you ask me if I want all 3 [Vini, Mbappé, Jude], or if I only want 2 of them, I tell you that I want all 3. The Mourinho of 2026 is in better conditions to advise the Mourinho of 2013. Do you advise your father, or does your father advise you? But I would say that it's important to be calm." "And then you say, 'José, what do you mean calm, you are sent off 3 times every season'. But it's not that type of calm. There are 3 matches every week, so 4h30 hours of football. It's important to be calm in the other 150 hours of the week." 🤍

In the midst of so many basic questions that are asked to José Mourinho (and most coaches) on a weekly basis, the journalist of a smaller media outlet [Bola na Rede] asked the following question: "Mr, you already highlighted your game plan of attracting Napoli's pressure to then be able to explore the space in behind, I wanted to ask you about the build-up. What was the importance of Barrenechea [CDM] dropping wide and playing facing towards the opposition, and then Aursnes moving wide in the other side? How important was that in the build-up?" Mourinho: "You know your football. Well done, you know your football... Maybe they'll get you to substitute one of the other 'know it alls' that don't actually know anything. Great question."
