Speculation surrounds the male boxer who failed a chromosomal blood screen to compete as female in last year's World Championships. Some believe he may have a DSD, leading to misidentification as female at birth. Regardless of any developmental syndromes or how he self-identifies, the male development pathway gives him a significant advantage over women in the ring. For this reason, all male athletes should be barred from competing in Women’s Olympic competition.
