In today's Senate Finance Committee, Rep. Kyle Harris found a staggering fact regarding the cost of detaining and housing criminal illegals in Idaho: We have approximately 250 criminal illegals who have committed felonies that are currently incarcerated in Idaho's correctional system. These individuals are required to serve their full Idaho sentences before any transfer to ICE detention or other federal facilities can occur. The most staggering part? The cost to house these illegals is, on average, $95 per day per inmate. This is estimated to roughly $8.7 MILLION annually to house these illegals in state prisons. This is insane and unsustainable. As was stated earlier by Department of Corrections Director Brie Derek, Idaho must prioritize working with ICE in expediting this process quicklier.

Hollywood couldn’t write this script. Despite what the left says, it turns out they are coming for your kids. 📢📢📢 Today, in Senate Judiciary & Rules, Melissa Webb, a registered nurse based in Boise, testified in opposition to House Bill 822, which promotes parental rights and prevents children from secretly transitioning genders. By arguing that this bill forces teachers, counselors, and medical providers to “violate professional ethics” and “break trust” with youth, she effectively advocated for keeping parents in the dark about critical issues affecting their children’s well-being. When directly asked whether she believed parents are the primary authority in a child’s life, Webb declined to take a clear position, responding, “I have a feeling this is trying to be a gotcha question, so I’m gonna choose not to answer.” When they can’t even say whether parents are the primary caretakers, then why should we trust any of them to be a voice or an authority on child policy? It’s time to pass HB 822 and STOP this insanity.
