A few dozen activists stood in Habima Square in central Tel Aviv and protested the war with Iran and the genocide in Gaza today. We were immediately threatened with violence and arrests by more than 50 policemen. A few were arrested and all signs were seized. We protested because even under threat of rockets from Iran and violence by Ben Gvir's forces, we know that if this madness doesn't stop now, it will only get worse for us, the Palestinians in the occupied territories and Gaza, the Iranian civilians and all of the region. This is not democracy! Condemn the suppression of peace activists by the Israeli state and condemn Netanyahu's continued aggression in the region.

Yesterday we came to Rothschild Blvd to protest against the genocide and for recognition of a Palestinian state. After far-right agitators came to disrupt the protest, the police decided to disperse us, just 7 minutes into the demonstration, which had been authorized by the police. Not only did the police have no legal grounds or justification to forcibly disperse the protest, but even after the dispersal, far-right thugs continued to attack activists in the streets and chase after them, while the police did nothing.

Less than a week before the Israeli government started the war with Iran, I spoke at a massive protest against the genocide in Gaza that the Italian opposition parties held in Rome. In front of 300,000 people in Rome, I called for the end of the genocide and war and for European governments to stop supporting Netanyahu as he continues to disregard international law and risk all of the region. Even after the expansion of the war and cycle of bloodshed by the war criminal Netanyahu, the same message still holds. Together, we will continue to fight against the genocide in Gaza that doesn't stop because of the war with Iran, against the regional war that is risking all of us and against the fascists all around the world, until we win!
