This is an interesting one: 2 rounds of antibiotics given to a patient for a chest infection. Patient still unwell. I wonder how much microbiology and pathology PAs have done in order to pick up what sort of chest infection this may have been in the first place (so to give the right antibiotics if needed) Wonder if this was a bacterial infection in the first place? Intrigued to understand what PA next steps would be? Had the patient seen the GP the second time? Interesting take on educating the public and interesting method by being pretty passive aggressive - unsure if this is the technique to be used. Glad that they are educating on antibiotic resistance though. I wonder how much this is happening causing increased activity, increased wait times and increased activity (unnecessarily)

No need for Royal College exams and no need for PLAB How GMC registrations are being given with different standards… all comes at a price of course. Just wondering - do we not have enough doctors who could do with the training to become registrars/middle grades and consultants? 1) there are doctors already in the U.K. stuck in bottlenecks. 2) importing at consultant level increases those bottle necks 3) the contracts that these IMGs are brought over on are substandard 4) trusts are exploiting IMGs 5) trusts will most likely start to terminate or not extend these contracts in the next few years when we start to see a massive reduction in doctor led care in the NHS (for example what % is now doctor led care in primary care) 6) these IMGs will be left in limbo 7) all this whilst 20,000 doctors leave a year - partially due to lack of training opportunities 8) this is an easy way of making money rather than solving the ACTUAL problem 9) Not to mention the lack of standards and governance being followed. 10) There is mandatory fee included for signing up to MDS as part of these fees too - not leaving the doctor free to sign up to any other defence org should they wish to 11) The links between BAPIO, BTA and MDS are interesting and they need further delving into especially in regard to governance and structure 12) Dr Geeta Menon has a humungous conflict of interest - one which would no go down in any public inquiry - in the world of finance and stocks this would be called insider trading. 13) the person is giving a 99% guarantee that GMC registration will happen I would like to ask all those parties involved in this - that’s GMC, BAPIO, NHS E WTE, Trusts, TERN etc - what have you done to actually solve the root cause? Can you show me in documentation how all other channels to solve the above have been absolutely exhausted first before taking these actions? 14) trusts also pay up to 30% of their doctors annual salary as a recruitment fee. This video was sent to me by a doctor friend who was thinking about coming across to the U.K. - to which I suggested probably not the right place for them. Does this sound like actions of organisations that want the best for eh tax payer and U.K. NHS and its doctors especially those in training or stuck as LED roles/SAS etc?
