Salama Juicy has been officially banned in Rwanda. However, some wholesalers reportedly still hold large stocks in some cases worth millions of RWF. To avoid losses, a few have allegedly started removing the SALAMA labels from the containers and replacing them with stickers of other juice brands from neighboring countries (Kenya, Uganda, or Tanzania). Therefore, Rwanda National Police should continue monitoring the market to ensure no relabeled products are being sold. To fully solve this, Rwanda Investigation Bureau and RNP could request the manufacturer of Salama Juicy to refund or buy back the remaining stock from sellers preventing the misuse of other brands’ stickers and protecting Rwandan consumers.

Instead of promoting cashless payments, many sellers in the city are now refusing to accept MoMo payments from strangers due to ongoing issues with transaction reversals. Both online and in store sellers are raising the same concern. Dear MTN Rwanda , why is this issue still unresolved? Why aren’t sellers being adequately protected? Does investigating a payment that has already been completed really require requesting a Rwanda Investigation Bureau? This situation is discouraging trust in cashless transactions and negatively affecting daily business operations.
