Just returned from a harrowing trip to Ewu from Lagos. Got into Ewu on Friday, fled Ewu on Saturday. It was mildly terrifying, the trip. Now safely in Lagos. Flew into Benin City from Lagos. From Benin to Ewu used to take 45 minutes leisurely driving, took 5 hours driving in the blinding rain, through tortuous side "roads" that looked like they had been fashioned with cutlasses and hoes by subsistence farmers (the main road from Benin to Esanland is a wretched shadow of its former wretched self, looking like someone, a lunatic had taken a jackhammer to it, sigh. It's a test of endurance for rugged vehicles, ours was a rugged Ford F150 truck built for these roads, wow. Anyway, nor mind the haters, I have applied to be Governor Okpebholo's hype man. The current hype man will need help to lie to the masses that there is actually a functioning government in Edo State (he is still better than Obaseki!). This is the full video regarding the "overpricing" pf goods and services by Nigerians in the diaspora. It's mostly gone viral mostly because of the £35 ice cream bowl of rice and turkey, but it is larger than that. She does have a point. Our people too do sha. We were at a function the other day and the lady charged My Lover ML $150 for makeup. 😢That was a few weeks ago. I am in therapy. I can't sleep, I wake up screaming, someone wants to do me make up for $150. SMH!

Why do I love visiting Nigeria? Nigeria defies all conventions, this vast market that sells everything from bullshit to body parts. Everywhere is a market, I love it. I love evenings on the streets of Ikotun, doing point and kill, enjoying grilled body parts. Last night dropped me off at the suya joint; they have everything, beef, ram, chicken, guinea fowl, fish. I am never going back home to America! I love you, Nigeria. ❤️😍❤️
