Sometimes I forget I am in Lagos, I am more likely to hear someone speak Igbo or pidgin English. Lagos is either cosmopolitan or the parts I have been visiting are not Yoruba enclaves. I wouldn't call Lagos No Man's Land though, it was founded by the warriors of Ewu.💪🏾

Why do I love visiting Nigeria? Nigeria defies all conventions, this vast market that sells everything from bullshit to body parts. Everywhere is a market, I love it. I love evenings on the streets of Ikotun, doing point and kill, enjoying grilled body parts. Last night dropped me off at the suya joint; they have everything, beef, ram, chicken, guinea fowl, fish. I am never going back home to America! I love you, Nigeria. ❤️😍❤️

Festac is pregnant with food, all sorts ooze out of every available space in Festac. Here where playgrounds have been razed down and turned to churches and restaurants, there is nothing you cannot eat here, just have the money or shift. Everybody works hard to get money to buy the food that is in abundance here - at atrocious prices (well, if you are earning in Naira!). Not even the beggar is spared. Living in Nigeria is a hard contact sport. One of my favorite places to go to is Barbados on 322 Road. My brother knows the men there and they know him, the camaraderie is spiritual and inspiring - what food and booze put together let no man put asunder. The vegetable snail dish is to die for and yesterday I was introduced to small pork pieces tenderly roasted for those who can pay. I am still swooning. Festac of the filthy gutters, I love you! ❤️🥰❤️ It is getting to time for me to return to the US 😭! I am the oldest of ten and I have enjoyed being the patriarch these past couple of months. I am now unlearning all the bad habits that were forced on me by my generous hosts. I am crying already! I will miss the soft life. I am already practicing for the return to Nigeria. After my coffee this morning, I carried my cup by myself to the kitchen. My brother's wife was upset with me but will she come and be carrying it for me in America? 😭😭😭 By the way, my brother's wife makes the best Tiger Nut juice in the whole wide world, and I drink it because she's a neat freak, you will not get sick from drinking her Tiger nut juice, so refreshing kai! Una dey try for this country sha, Nigeria is at war with her children! If I see America, I go kiss am mwah!
