IMAX Fact: We’re going to crash a real Trojan Horse with Tom Holland inside

IMAX film cameras are extremely loud due to their intricate mechanics designed to handle the large and heavy 15-perforation 65mm film stock moving horizontally through the camera. To ensure maximum clarity, each frame, at 24+ frames per second, is held perfectly flat via a vacuum suction system as it is exposed to light for half a second. Any deviation in flatness would compromise the extreme image quality IMAX film is known for, being the largest and highest fidelity motion picture format ever devised. The resulting noise makes IMAX cameras unsuitable for scenes requiring live sound as it interferes with on-set dialogue, leading crews to rely on automated dialogue replacement (ADR) in post-production. Here’s an example on the set of No Time to Die (2021) using a Bickers Action tracking vehicle.
