🇹🇭 Princess Anne speaking of the late Queen Sirikit & the late Princess Bajrakitiyabha (Bha) in Bangkok. For the first engagement in Thailand, the Princess Royal, as Patron, visited Chumchonmoobanpattana School for a joint event held by Save the Children Thailand, Liverpool Football Club Foundation as well as the British Embassy Bangkok. At the school, HRH met approximately 60 children from across Thailand who face barriers to equal opportunities, including children from refugee & migrant backgrounds, & poorer communities in Bangkok.

« This is by no means my first visit to Washington, D.C. — the capital of this great Republic. It is in fact my 20th visit to the United States, & my first as King & Head of the Commonwealth. This is a city which symbolises a period in our shared history, or what Charles Dickens might have called ‘A Tale of Two Georges’: the first President, George Washington, & my five-times Great Grandfather, King George III. King George never set foot in America &, please rest assured, I am not here as part of some cunning rearguard action! »

🇹🇭 The Princess Royal visiting Chulalongkorn University earlier today in highlighting the role of women in science & technology. Princess Anne also met with Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn at the University. On arrival, HRH was presented with a handheld flower garland & driven in an electric tuk-tuk (MuvMi) around the campus, accompanied by the Chairman of the University. The Princess was then received by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research & Innovation. In a ceremony, the Princess presented certificates recognising one Women in STEM Scholar & two Women in STEM Award recipients. HRH also met five women innovators supported by UK programmes & delivered remarks. Princess Anne was then invited to lay flower garlands to pay respects to King Rama V (Chulalongkorn) & his son King Rama VI (Vajiravudh).
