“Idhu Namma Aalu” is one of those timeless family entertainers. Bhagyaraj’s portrayal was hilarious, and despite dealing with a very sensitive subject, the film handled it with remarkable humour, warmth, and respect. My entire family still loves this film. My late grandfather, a Vedic scholar himself, never missed it whenever it came on TV. Watching him laugh through every scene remains one of my fondest memories. Varusham 16 is another movie (though not Bhagyaraj’s) is another movie that brought in a lot of nostalgia for me

இசை அரசி S Janaki 💔 Isai Arasi is a masterclass in voices. For most of the song, it’s the beautiful interplay of P. Susheela and M.S. Rajeshwari. Then S. Janaki enters towards the end and starts from “Amma…..” and effortlessly elevates the song to another level. One of Ilaiyaraaja’s finest compositions, and one of my all-time favorite Janaki moments. She will be deeply missed. 💔🎶
