A classroom can teach a syllabus. A Goodwill School has to teach a life. At Brig Rajendra Singh Army Goodwill School, Boniyar, a new lawn tennis court was opened so students could learn grit the hard way, rally by rally. Folk dance on the carpet, ribbon and plaque, rackets in young hands on the blue synthetic court, then Class 12 toppers on the same stage. Shafaq Latif, first in her class, thanked her parents, her teachers, and her God. That is Beyond Books: culture, sport, and scholarship in one afternoon. From Army Goodwill School Kagyan (Sabjian), a decorated bus rolled out on a 5-day National Integration Tour. Teachers Zarifa Bano and her colleague said what the hills already know — for children from remote tracts, a train, a city, Shalimar and Nishat are not sightseeing. They are proof that India is larger than the last ridge. Student Shukoor Ahmad called it his first educational tour. That sentence is the mission. At the AGS ground in Hajin, Bandipore, the District Volleyball Championship 2026 — Bandipore Volleyball Association with 13 Rashtriya Rifles (Kumaon), under Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyaan — turned the school field into a public argument for discipline. Army, J&K Police, players, schoolchildren, and village elders in one frame. Serve, spike, fair play. Energy that could have been wasted was put into the net. This is how Army Goodwill Schools under Operation Sadbhavana shape future citizens in #JandK and #Ladakh: resilience through sports, belonging through the National Integration Tour, pride through festivals and felicitations. Confident. Resilient. Socially aware. Watch the videos. 🇮🇳 Pride of Kashmir | First Kashmiri Pandit Lady Officer in the Maroon Beret From the valleys of Kashmir to the skies with the Paras — this is the story of Lt Col Raadhika Masaldan, a true embodiment of Nari Shakti, unyielding resolve, and Kashmiri Pandit courage. As a young cadet, she saw a maroon beret on her instructor and made a silent vow — one day, that beret would be hers. Many tried to discourage her. “The path is too brutal,” they said. But her father’s words echoed in her heart: “If you want to, you can.” She volunteered. She waited over two years while serving in tough conditions. Then came the real test in Agra — punishing PT, sleepless nights, endless route marches (25, 30, 40 km with heavy loads), midnight tasks, and constant pressure to quit. She didn’t. Through sweat, exhaustion, and doubt, she pushed on. One day, her blue beret was gently removed… and the Maroon Beret was placed on her head. She became the only lady officer in her batch to qualify, the third from the Army Education Corps, and the first Kashmiri Pandit lady to earn this honour. Not stopping there, she conquered her fear of heights, jumped from an AN-32 aircraft, and later made a daring night jump into complete darkness — proving she is truly a woman among “men apart.” Lt Col Raadhika Masaldan didn’t just wear the Maroon Beret. She earned every thread of it with blood, sweat, and unbreakable passion. A shining example of what determination and love for the uniform can achieve. Kashmir’s daughter, Bharat Mata’s pride. #NariShakti #MaroonBeret #IndianArmy #KashmiriPandit #WomenInUniform #ParaRegiment #JaiHind #ProudIndianArmy
