#IndiaAtUN PR Parvathaneni Harish shared 🇮🇳’s views on protecting education for Children Affected by Armed Conflict at the Open Debate on Children and Armed Conflict at the United Nations Security Council. ➡️ Emphasized the primary responsibility of the State to protect children's rights, including their right to education and referred to 🇮🇳’s own constitutional guarantee of free & compulsory education for every child up to 14 years of age. ➡️ Outlined 🇮🇳’s sustained investment in facilitating education for refugees and displaced communities from across our neighbourhood as well as rebuilding education infrastructures for them. ➡️ Presented the example of DIKSHA — 🇮🇳's national digital education platform, where technology can bridge the gap for children locked out of classrooms. ➡️ Emphasized that education of children in war-torn regions is an imperative and not a charity. #IndiaAtUN India at UN, NY, Mongolian Mission to the UN in New York🇲🇳🇺🇳 and Permanent Mission of Kenya to the UN 🇰🇪 🇺🇳 organized a commemorative event titled ‘Cooperatives and Sustainable Development: Maintaining Momentum and Exploring New Avenues’ to mark International Year of Cooperatives. Hon’ble HM Amit Shah, through a pre-recorded video, highlighted the role of cooperatives in tackling national and global challenges, such as inclusive development, inequality, food insecurity etc. He recalled PM Narendra Modi’s mantra of ‘Sahkar Se Samriddhi’ (Prosperity through cooperation). The event, which brought together multiple stakeholders from around the world, underscored the socio-economic contributions of cooperatives and discussed the pathway to strengthen partnership between countries with regard to the framework of cooperatives.
