A new class of technician will be born this year, 2026. Everyone will have the means to concentrate and automate all their online life. Software Engineers will be capable of building complex production ready systems extremely fast, usually in minutes, often in seconds.

The power of editing a program while it is still running without losing any state, can potentially save humanity at least 250 billion hours per year. Never recompile, never reload, never redeploy, never surrender.

There's a programming environment where you can literally *paste a running website* and scrap its surface media by simply dragging them out of it, like one is supposed to. Remember you saw it first in Unit.

Echo Server. The number of public and private web services that can start just like that is unsurmountable. We are about to enter a new technological era where a single individual can build and control systems more advanced than those of multi-billion dollar corporations'.

Magnetic Selection

Bit Matrix 🧬 Alien Tech

Unit defines a new kind of software, one built to maximize user freedom and empowerment, and it just got a homepage:

Whenever I want to write down my thoughts on the computer or the phone, I find myself reaching for a simple text area. That's all I need. Introducing the most minimal text app ever. 100% Local, 0 UI, and Open Source.

Unit makes Metaprogramming trivial. I can quickly turn this web server into a *Hot Web Server*: Every change made to the website's source is immediately propagated to all users, no reload nor reinstall needed. Imagine being able to solve your users problems... immediately. ⚡️

The Unit Environment allows one to interact with an app and debug its internals in the same place and at the same time — every project can have its own custom developer experience.

Is the world ready for Metaballs?

Explorable Todo List

Behold the code of The Infinite Machine: this structure holds a program which functionality can be altered on-the-fly, 0-redeploy.

Built the entire Unit environment with that design constraint in mind from the start, 0 popups.

Since the editor itself is a unit, you can plug it to a graph to debug inside and outside at the same time.

Check out this absurd observability: I can debug at the level of each chat Web Socket connection. Imagine having this granular live control over all your systems, power no admin has ever felt before.

Hear me out, the Revolution will need this: an explorable chat interface that facilitates end-to-end encrypted peer-to-peer conversation by simply exchanging public keys and a handshake. That's how we beat them, with Math.

For this years gift, I will give you this live chat server toolbox you can self host. It allows you to assemble custom chat apps you can send to your friends so you can talk in private, outside of direct state/corporate surveillance's reach. DIY and be free!

Language of Angels

What we really want: Code = Canvas

Unit websites have this very unique property in which their code can be inspected and copied on spot. It is free-for-all: you can take out any unit you like.

This is what true power looks like: Live editing all instances of the same object at once.

Composition: abstract common subgraphs into reusable units.

Unit is great for building AI pipelines!
