A Congolese national detained at Gauteng’s Lindela Repatriation Centre says he fears deportation despite entering South Africa legally and being married to a South African citizen. Living in the country since 2018, he was detained after his passport and business visa expired while in custody on another matter. He claims detainees face uncertainty about their cases, alleges poor living conditions at the facility, and says as a father of four he wants the chance to regularise his documentation rather than be deported. 📷: Wendy Dondolo / IOL #CongeleseNational #LindelaRepatriationCentre #Deportation #Documentation

Evidence leaders presented WhatsApp chats showing General Khan, via Mr. Sayed, coordinating with Mr. Malema to orchestrate the removal of the Inspector General of Intelligence. Khan drafted questions for Parliament, including: "Convicted drug dealer... claims to be close friends with you. Is this true?" and "What gratification does the Inspector General... enjoy from this person?" The aim was to trap the Inspector General into lying about his relationship with a convicted drug lord (Tomi Marimutu). Khan stated: "This should get him to lie. And in return, we can ask for his removal because he lied." The chats show Malema was directly involved in formulating questions, and a meeting between Malema, Khan, and Sayed was arranged for 20 June 2021. #MadlangaCommission

Cases have been referred to the NPA. - Sesona Madlokovana reports. #SouthAfrica #HomeAffairs #SIU #ImmigrationFraud

Health Minister Motsoaledi appealed to interns, stating the belief that taking sick leave extends internship is "ill-founded" and not government policy. He said interns only fail to complete internship due to "very, very serious misconduct"—citing an example of an intern who altered lab results to avoid work, causing a patient to fall into a coma. He emphasized: "You are more protected as an intern than us... This is a democracy. It has got very serious labor laws." #HealthOmbud #Interns #HealthcareWorkers #DrMotsoaledi #SouthAfrica

Captain Maclean testified that after Col Roelofse retired, he was unable to secure a prosecutor for the case against Advocate Johnson because of her seniority and influence. He stated: "The only reason we waited for the new NDPP is to get us someone that is not in this province, that doesn't know Advocate Johnson." He noted that only yesterday (9 July 2026) a meeting was held with prosecutors, and movement on the matter is now underway. He also obtained a statement from Mr. Bateman on 23 June 2026—four years after the initial request. #MadlangaCommission #AndreaJohnson #IDAC #NPA #ObstructionOfJustice

Evidence leaders presented a voice note from Mo Sayed to General Khan (7 July 2021), asking Khan to check with "Pilot" how many test kits were needed for different government departments, as Sayed had approval to distribute through Carnilinx and stock approved by SAHPRA. They then showed a screenshot Khan sent to Sayed (12 July 2021) containing internal SAPS information—the number of disposable face masks required per province—which would not have been publicly available and would benefit a bidder. Below that was a public Treasury instruction (COVID procurement). The evidence leaders noted the internal SAPS mask numbers were "not information that was publicly available" and would advantage a bidder. #MadlangaCommission
