Udny Castle is a tower house in the North East of Scotland, southwest of Pittmedden in Aberdeenshire. The Doric dialect of the Scots language for Udny is Widnie. The exact construction date is unknown but it’s foundations date to the late 14th and early 15th century. Constructed by the Udny family, the property was first recorded on the charter of David II, instigated by a Ronald of Uldney. The castle was abandoned in 1775 but repair work begun in 1801.
