Ireland is committed to working for the protection of human rights & to advocating for those who defend human rights around the 🌎 It is with these values in mind that 🇮🇪 intends to seek election to UN Human Rights Council for the term 2027-2029. 🔗

It is an anachronism that has no place in the 21st century. We regret the use of the veto this morning on a resolution on #Gaza, which followed a veto earlier this week on a resolution on #Sudan. UNSC inaction in the face of such human suffering is unacceptable. Full Statement ➡️
