A Major Test Armed bandits reportedly intercepted the vehicle of former Nigerian Army spokesperson, Major General Rabe Abubakar (rtd), in Matazu while he was travelling to Katsina. According to reports, the attackers opened fire on the vehicle and abducted the retired General, his wife, and other occupants before taking them into the forest. Truly, no one would wish such an ordeal even on an enemy. Major General Rabe Abubakar is undoubtedly facing one of the greatest trials of his life. It is also deeply concerning that a retired senior military officer could fall victim to such an attack, highlighting the persistent security challenges facing the country. We pray that Almighty Allah grants them safety and secures their swift release unharmed.
