Meira Paibis Exposed: Unveiling the Truth of Manipur's Torch-bearers In recent years, the Meitei Women Group, known as #MeiraPaibis, has positioned themselves as the torch-bearers of Manipur women. However, a closer examination reveals a disturbing reality. 1. Complicity in Crimes Against Women May 3, 2023 till date: Contrary to their self-proclaimed role as protectors of Manipur women, multiple Kuki-Zo women survivors' claimed that they were handed over to the Meitei menfolk by the Meira Paibis, subjecting them to violation, molestation, grave physical and mental assault, abduction, extended torture, gang-r@pe and even for brutal murder. 2. Obstruction of Justice June 24, 2023, Itham Village, Imphal East District: #MeiraPaibis obstructed the #IndianArmy's attempt to apprehend 12 cadres of proscribed #MeiteiTerrorists group - KYKL, including the self-styled Lt.Col Moirangthem Tamba, alias Uttam, responsible for the killing of eighteen Dogra Regiment #IndianArmy personnel in 2015. This incident not only highlights their disregard for the law but also raises concerns about their potential involvement in terrorist activities. 3. Thwarting Investigation of the Police July 28, 2023: #MeiraPaibis held a protest in Thoubal District against the arrest of the accused in the #ManipurViralVideo case. They demanded immediate release of the accused. They marched with placards such as ‘Stop Arresting Innocent People,' effectively shielding the perpetrators from justice. They also lock down the police station to protest against the suspension of the Officer-in-charge for his alleged failure to control the mob from the viral video. 4. Collusion in Arms Looting June 23, 2023: The #MeiraPaibis successfully obstructed the Central Bureau of Investigation (India) Central Bureau of Investigation in their efforts to investigate a significant arms looting case. This criminal act involved the theft of over 4000 guns and more than 6.5 lakhs of ammunition, orchestrated by Meitei terrorists who infiltrated from #Myanmar in collaboration with the Meira Paibis, Arambai Tenggol, and Meetei Leepun. 5. From 'Torch-Bearers' to Arsonists The #MeiraPaibis, on June 4, 2023, literally exercise their torch-bearers tag by trapping and burning alive a 7-year-old boy, his mother and a relative inside an #ambulance.
